Soy naturalista y científica, con experiencia en anatomía, paleontología y arqueología, y madre de dos niños curiosos, amantes de la naturaleza y salvajes. Después de más de una década de estudiar y enseñar biología humana, evolución y cultura, he llegado a dos conclusiones muy importantes: (1) los humanos son tan parte de la naturaleza como cualquier otro animal, y (2) no hay suficientes personas que lo sepan. Me he vuelto realmente apasionado a lo largo de los años por reconectarme personalmente con la naturaleza e inspirar a otros a hacer lo mismo. La vida cambió en una nueva dirección después de que mi pareja y yo comenzamos nuestra familia, y comencé a revisar y hacer tiempo para mi lado creativo y artístico. Una vez que decidimos educar en casa, no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que me enamorara de crear mi propio material de educación en el hogar inspirado en la naturaleza. Y así, por la noche, cuando todos están dormidos y la casa está felizmente tranquila, pinto y creo carteles y actividades educativas con temas de naturaleza y ciencia que espero que no solo enseñen a mis hijos (y a usted y a sus hijos o estudiantes) sobre el mundo natural, sino que también los inspiren a ser conscientes de la naturaleza y nuestra relación muy importante con ella.

I am a naturalist and a scientist — with a background in anatomy, paleontology, and archaeology — and a homeschooling mom to two curious, nature-loving, and wild little boys. After more than a decade of studying and teaching human biology, evolution, and culture, I’ve come to two very important conclusions: (1) humans are as much a part of nature as any other animal, and (2) not enough people know this. I’ve become really passionate over the years about personally reconnecting with nature, and inspiring others to do the same. Life shifted in a new direction after my partner and I started our family, and I began to revisit and make time for my creative and artistic side. Once we decided to homeschool, it wasn’t long before I fell in love with creating my own nature-inspired homeschool material. And so, at night, when everyone is asleep and the house is blissfully quiet, I paint and create nature and science-themed educational posters and activities that I hope will not only teach my children (and you and your children or students) about the natural world, but also inspire them to be mindful of nature and our very important relationship with it.
