Our Story
Hi, I'm Emily!
A life long lover of crafting, candles, and knitting, I created South Loop Scents shorty after moving to Chicago's South Loop in 2022 with my boyfriend. Crafting has always been a stress relieving outlet to me, and I realized I needed to incorporate it back into my life. Moving to Chicago provided a much needed change of scenery for me, and I rediscovered my passion for knitting, crafting, and candle making.
In creating South Loop Scents, I wanted to create exceptional home decor pieces that incorporated wellness and mindfulness into an everyday routine, that would allow users to unplug from the many stresses of the day. Our candles are handcrafted in small batches using organic soy wax, vegan colors, all natural fragrances and essential oils, and crackling wood wicks, so you can enjoy a clean, non-toxic burn. Available in many sizes and scents, our candles are great for gifts, party favors, or for treating yourself to something special.
Our candles, wax melts, and home decor pieces are all handmade by me in our home studio, where I enjoy stunning views of Chicago's skyline and downtown while I create :) In my free time, I love to explore the city, travel, and spend time with family and friends.
