Ich habe lange Freude am Nähen, Quilten und Basteln im Allgemeinen, aber ich hätte nie daran gedacht, einen Etsy-Shop zu eröffnen, wenn meine Schwester Hannah nicht gewesen wäre.
Ich aß mit meiner Schwester Hannah zu Mittag und wir diskutierten über meine aktuellen Nähprojekte (ich glaube, eine Tasche oder ein Hemd war zu der Zeit für sie in Arbeit), als meine Schwester fragte, ob ich jemals auf Etsy gewesen sei. Zu dieser Zeit war Hannah eine College-Juniorin und eine erfahrene Prokrastiniererin. Mit anderen Worten, sie fand und wusste über all die coolsten Dinge online Bescheid und erzählte mir dann davon. Das bedeutete natürlich, dass sie alles über Etsy und all die süßen Dinge wusste, die zum Verkauf standen, und schlug vor, dass ich es mir anschaue.
Nun, das tat ich, und ungefähr einen Monat später diskutierten wir Namen für den Laden, und mit ihrer Hilfe kamen wir auf etwa 10 Ladennamen. Nach einigen Diskussionen dachten wir beide, dass Threads of Genius das beste war. Das war der erste Shopname. Nach einem Jahr dachte ich immer noch nicht, dass der Name perfekt war. Ich wollte etwas Persönlicheres. Ich arbeite immer noch daran. Bis jetzt denke ich, dass ich meine Initialen (LL) ausspielen und das integrieren werde. Vielleicht das Double L Studio oder nur das Double L? Wer weiß. Das einzige, was sicher ist, ist, dass ich meine Schwester konsultieren werde, bevor ich die Änderung vornehme.
Jetzt, da es ein Jahr später ist, arbeite ich immer noch am Etsy-Shop. Ich arbeite und gehe im Sommer zur Schule, so dass nicht mehr viel Zeit zum Basteln bleibt, obwohl ich etwas Basteln mache. Im Herbst und Frühling sind meine Hauptarbeitszeiten. Ich habe die Nachmittage frei und kann nach Belieben basteln und nähen und quilten.

I have long enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafts in general, but I would have never thought to open an Etsy shop if not for my sister Hannah.
I was having lunch with my sister, Hannah, and we were discussing my current sewing projects, (I believe a bag or shirt was in the works for her at the time) when my sister asked if I had ever been on Etsy. At the time Hannah was a college junior and an expert procrastinator. In other words she found and knew about all of the coolest things online, and would then tell me about them. Naturally, that meant that she knew all about Etsy and all of the cute things for sale, and suggested that I look into it.
Well that I did, and about a month later we were discussing names for the shop, and with her help, we came up with about 10 shop names. After some discussion, we both thought that Threads of Genius was the best one. That was the first shop name. After a year I still didn't think that the name was perfect. I wanted something a little more personal. I am still working on it. So far I think I am going to play off of my initials (LL) and incorperate that. Maybe The Double L Studio, Or just The Double L? Who knows. The only thing that is certain is that I will consult my sister before I make the change.
Now that it is a year later, I am still working on the Etsy shop. I work and go to school during the summer, so there isn't much time left for crafting, although I do squeeze in some crafting. In the fall and spring are my main work times. I have the afternoons free and can craft and sew and quilt at will.
