It started with a simple phrase: “My tummy hurts.”
What began as one design quickly became something more. Not just something to wear, but something that made people living with chronic illness and invisible illness feel understood in a way they hadn’t before.
This comes directly from my life.
My husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis right before we got married. Years later, my son was diagnosed as a freshman in high school. My mom has lived with chronic pain for most of her life. And when I was nine, I lost my dad in a sudden accident.
Living alongside chronic illness, I kept noticing the same thing. Not just the diagnoses, but how often people had to explain themselves, and how often they pushed through while no one fully understood what they were carrying.
I couldn’t ignore it.
Unified By Design was created for those moments. The everyday ones, the hard ones, the ones where you don’t have the energy to explain what you’re going through.
At the heart of every design is the belief that humor, honesty, and awareness can exist at the same time. Some pieces are soft, some are bold, and some say exactly what you’re thinking.
These aren’t just clothes. They’re emotional armor, conversation starters, and a way to move through the world feeling seen without having to say everything out loud.
This shop is for people navigating chronic illness, invisible illness, and the people who love them.
