Nunca me he contentado con la "norma". Siempre quise ser único y diferente.
Todo comenzó con aprender a coser en el hogar económico 101. Estaba creando vestidos de fiesta y de novia mientras todavía estaba en la escuela secundaria. Cuando adquirí mi primera casa, mi capacidad de costura se amplió al diseño de interiores y pronto recibió clientes de toda la ciudad. Luego los niños comenzaron a venir y mis talentos se expandieron a la ropa y los artículos de juguete para niños. Aprendí a hacer ganchillo, creando mis propios diseños originales y pudiendo agregar acentos adicionales únicos a cualquier artículo. Creaba artículos para mí mismo, y descubrí que pronto los estaba vendiendo a quien los viera. Una de mis mayores emociones fue que Disney se acercara a mí para hacer artículos para su victoriana.
Heredé el amor por la "basura" de mi papá y pronto me di cuenta de que esta pequeña voz en mi cabeza me ayudó a reconocer piezas vintage raras y especiales. ¡¡Me encanta la caza!! Dondequiera que voy siempre estoy en mi "modo de caza". Las experiencias de la vida han sido muy gratificantes, pero el viaje no tiene precio.
Después de retirarme de la administración financiera de los hospitales el año pasado (y terminar con los viajes constantes) ¡es mi momento!
I have never been content with the “norm”. I always wanted unique and different.
It all started with learning to sew in home economic 101. I was creating prom and wedding dresses while still in high school. As I acquired my first home, my sewing ability was expanded to interior design and was soon getting customers from all over town. Then the children started coming and my talents were expanded to children’s clothing and toy items. I learned to crochet, creating my own original designs and being able to add unique extra accents to any item. I would create items for myself, and found I was soon selling them to whoever saw them. One of my biggest thrills was having Disney approach me to make items for their Victorian Shop.
I inherited a love of "junking" from my Dad and soon realized, this little voice in my head helped me recognize rare and special vintage pieces. I love the hunt!! Everywhere I go I am always in my "hunt mode. Life's experiences have been so rewarding but the journey is being priceless.
After retiring from financial management of hospitals last year (and ending the constant traveling) it is my time!
