Me encontré con mi amor por la costura en el 7º grado. Tomé la ropa como electiva e inmediatamente me sorprendió lo increíble que era crear algo hermoso y funcional con un par de piezas de tela y una aguja e hilo. Sin embargo, no fue hasta el nacimiento de mi 3er hijo que realmente me metí en eso. Recuerdo que busqué un estilo que tenía en mente y no pude encontrar lo que estaba buscando, así que decidí hacer algo por mi cuenta. Comencé con mantas y paños y baberos para eructar, y mi pasión por hacer cosas simplemente creció a partir de ahí.
Hay tantas razones por las que hago colchas y coses. Mi amor por la tela dirigió este pasatiempo mío. Mezclar patrones y combinar diferentes combinaciones de colores podría ser mi parte favorita del proceso de fabricación. Me encanta ocupar mis manos y ver que una idea que tengo en mi cabeza cobra vida, y realmente me encanta la idea de crear algo útil que pueda transmitirse y viajar a través de la historia de una familia. No puedo decirte la alegría y la felicidad que obtengo al ver a bebés, niños, mamás y todos los demás envueltos en algo que creé.
Espero contar una historia con cada cosa que creo, pero más que eso, espero que lo que creo se convierta en parte de la historia de otra familia.

I happened upon my love of sewing in the 7th grade. I took Clothing as an elective and was immediately taken by how amazing it was to create something both beautiful and functional with a couple pieces of fabric and a needle and thread. It wasn't until the birth of my 3rd child that I really got into it, though. I remember looking around for a style I had in mind and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I decided to just make something on my own. I started with blankets and burp cloths and bibs, and my passion for making things just grew from there.
There are so many reasons I quilt and sew. My love of fabric steered this hobby of mine. Mixing patterns and combining different color combinations might be my favorite part of the making process. I love to busy my hands and see an idea I have in my head come to life, and I really love the idea of creating something useful that might be passed along and travel through a family's history. I cannot tell you the joy and happiness I get from seeing babies and children and mamas and everyone else wrapped up in something I created.
I hope to tell a story with each thing I create, but more than that, I hope what I create becomes a part of another family's story.
