Mi tienda ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años desde mi amor por la caza y la venta de artículos vintage que se encuentran en los mercados de pulgas hasta la decoración de paredes hecha a mano. Originalmente comencé a hacer mapas de Ohio para vender con nuestros muebles restaurados cuando mi hija y yo éramos vendedores en espectáculos locales y pulgas. Como los mapas siempre se vendían muy bien en nuestros espectáculos, descubrí que podía llevar este popular artículo de venta a mi tienda de Etsy, donde podía expandirme a la artesanía de todos los estados y correo en todo el país.
La "State Side Collection" es una decoración de paredes que está hecha de mapas de carreteras antiguos. Los estados se cortan a mano de madera contrachapada a la que se aplica el mapa. Los bordes del mapa se envuelven cuidadosamente alrededor de los lados de la madera para dar a la pared colgante un aspecto limpio y acabado.
La "Colección Wood Tones" y la "Colección Home Pride" son nuevas en la tienda este año y están hechas de varios tipos de madera que se han pegado sobre un fondo de madera delgada, que los mantiene sólidamente unidos. A partir de estas hermosas combinaciones de madera, se cortan las formas de los estados.
He disfrutado mucho aprendiendo sobre nuestros estados y sus formas interesantes a medida que los hago. Pero aún más, disfruto encontrar en cada estado un hogar donde se aprecia como un lugar de nacimiento, un lugar de vida actual o simplemente un lugar que lleva buenos recuerdos. Es una forma original de personalizar su hogar con una decoración única y mostrar su orgullo estatal.
My shop has evolved over the years from my love of hunting for and selling vintage items found at flea markets to making hand crafted wall decor. I originally started making Ohio maps to sell with our refurbished furniture when my daughter and I were vendors at local shows and fleas. As the maps always sold very well at our shows, I discovered I could carry this popular selling item over to my Etsy shop where I could expand to handcrafting every state and mail all over the country.
The "State Side Collection" is wall decor that is made from vintage road maps. The states are hand cut from plywood to which the map is applied. Edges of the map are wrapped carefully around the sides of the wood to give the wall hanging a clean, finished look.
The "Wood Tones Collection" and "Home Pride Collection" are new to the shop this year and are made from various types of wood that have been glued together onto a thin wood background, which holds them solidly together. From these beautiful combinations of wood, the shapes of the states are cut.
I have very much enjoyed learning about our states and their interesting shapes as I make them. But even more, I enjoy finding each state a home where it is cherished as a birthplace, a current living place, or just a place that carries fond memories. It is an original way to customize your home with unique decor and to show your state pride.
