A passion for design
Finlay worked with legendary album sleeve designer Storm Thorgerson and his team for many years creating world renowned art, album sleeves and film for Pink Floyd, Muse and many other bands. Finlay was responsible for conceiving one of Pink Floyd most famous images (Back Catalogue) and he co-wrote many of the films used by the band as projections in their live shows.
Finlay went on to work in Hollywood on films for Oliver Stone and others before publishing several bestselling books on Fantasy Art.
Finlay has always used hand drawing as his main technique - even today, working on complex architectural projects with teams across the world, he still draws by hand.
"For me, it's a faster way of working out ideas... and sitting quietly at my drawing board gives me the space I need to go deep into my imagination".
"There's a simplicity in being able to do everything with nothing more than a pencil... but that pencil has taken me from rock and roll, to Hollywood, books, computer games and beyond into architecture"
For the first time Finlay has opened up his archive and made many previously unpublished artworks available to art collectors.
All the artworks are available exclusively to Finlay's Etsy store and won’t be found anywhere else.
Each artwork is limited to a print run of 2600 copies.
We hope you will join us on our journey as we explore the thousands of artworks hidden away in Finlay’s studio.
