PocketMod – Our Shop Story
PocketMod begann als kleines Projekt zweier Nintendo-Fans – Simon (das bin ich) und meiner Freundin Elle. Was als einfacher Joy-Con-Gehäusetausch begann, entwickelte sich schnell zu etwas Größerem: der gemeinsamen Leidenschaft, Konsolen so unterhaltsam und persönlich aussehen zu lassen wie die Spiele, die sie spielen.
Momentan konzentriere ich mich auf individuelle Joy-Con-Gehäusemods. Jedes Paar wird sorgfältig zerlegt, gereinigt, mit hochwertigen Aftermarket-Gehäusen ausgestattet, getestet und mit Sendungsverfolgung zurückgeschickt. Es ist keine Massenproduktion – es wird mit Sorgfalt von Hand gefertigt und soll sich wie etwas ganz Eigenes anfühlen.
Elles Rolle spielt sich vorerst im Hintergrund ab. Sie ist jedoch seit Jahren leidenschaftliche Game Boy Advance-Mod-Enthusiastin und arbeitet daran, bald komplette GBA-Custom-Builds auf den Markt zu bringen. Sobald dies geschieht, wird PocketMod auf weitere Handheld-Systeme und eine größere Auswahl an Mod-Stilen ausgeweitet.
Gemeinsam schaffen wir etwas Kleines, aber Echtes. Nur zwei Leute, die Handhelds so modifizieren, wie wir es uns wünschen würden, wenn sie sofort einsatzbereit wären.

PocketMod started as a small project between two Nintendo lovers—Simon (that’s me) and my girlfriend Elle. What began as a simple Joy-Con shell swap quickly turned into something more: a shared obsession with making consoles look as fun and personal as the games they play.
Right now, I focus on custom Joy-Con shell mods. Each pair is carefully disassembled, cleaned, fitted with high-quality aftermarket shells, tested, and sent back with tracked shipping. It’s not mass-produced—it’s done by hand, with care, and meant to feel like something truly yours.
Elle’s role is behind the scenes—for now. But she’s been passionate about Game Boy Advance modding for years, and she’s working toward launching full GBA custom builds soon. When that happens, PocketMod will expand into more handheld systems and a wider range of mod styles.
Together, we’re creating something small but genuine. Just two people modding handhelds the way we wish they came out of the box.
