I have lived in Thailand for 8 years, which has given me the opportunity to explore and the privilege to enjoy the handcrafts in this entire region especially by the hill tribes of the Golden Triangle.
The rich and wide variety of resources in Thailand are endless and amazingly unique and beautiful.
I began selling hand crafted Karen sterling silver jewelry in my etsy shop a year ago. The craftsmanship from the hill tribes of Northern Thailand are truly amazing from silver jewelry to woven textiles to embroidery and etc.
The hill tribes are still very rich in their culture and tradition till this very day and clearly shows especially in their attire more so during special occasions.
The Karen, Hmong, Akha, Lisu are among the largest hill tribes living in Northern Thailand.
Embroidered into every piece of clothing is a unique signature of their creation in every tribe from top to bottom.
One of the fine examples are the tapestries which are embroidered using rich and vibrant colour threads. Small pieces of fabric cuttings are folded and every piece painstakingly hand sewn onto the base cloth and sometimes further embellished with beads and tassels. All these put together to create a truly amazing piece of creation unlike any other. Every piece is truly unique.

The items sold in Siam Discovery are carefully sourced directly from the villagers of the hill tribes and not from retails stores.
I have priced them according to the quality of the craftsmanship as well as the condition of every item.
