A Jewelry Box...

My love for jewelry began at a single moment - when my Great Aunt Helen showed me her tower-like jewelry box filled to the brim with gorgeous antique trinkets. From Scottish jewelry, to Art Deco and Art Nouveau, every piece was like a buried treasure of discovery for me. The best part was that she loved to tell the stories behind her treasures to anyone who was interested. It fascinated me (and still does) that the spirit of a person can live on through jewelry. She gave me a piece here and there, all of which I still have and would never part with.

As I grew older, I became obsessed with art and design. The prospect of mixing my love for design with my love of jewelry was the only possible option for my happiness. I went to school to study fashion design and shortly after, I began Poor Sparrow.

Poor Sparrow is a true mix of my two loves - antique jewelry and jewelry design. I incorporate vintage elements with new parts and pieces to create unique jewelry that anyone can love. Vintage jewelry trickles into my shop every now and then because some pieces are just too beautiful to be re-purposed.
