Hi! I've been sewing since 2014 even though I've wanted to learn my whole life. I started making quilts and learning to sew garments from my dear friend who owns Hourglass Patterns here on Etsy. After making numerous quilts, bucket hats, sundresses, pants, bags, etc., my friends repeatedly asked me why I don't have an Etsy store. I didn't have the time (I'm a full time actor and part time photographer) and only made things for friends and family. Now that we are in need of face masks, I've been making them since March 2020 and donating most of them in the beginning. Many people are making masks but they don't all have the filter pocket, a great nose wire and a way to adjust the elastic around the ears. My masks have that plus they're made from high quality 100% cotton (except for the vintage ones) that has been pre-washed to reduce shrinking. The lining is 100% cotton muslin for softness and breathability. They're constructed differently too and are guaranteed to be more comfortable than other masks. I'm told constantly that my masks are my customer's "go to mask" and they've held up nicely for months in the wash. We're going to be wearing masks for a while so I wanted to make some fun ones to ensure people would actually wear them. There are some really cool ones coming so be sure to check back often! The more variants that arise, the greater the need for a tight fitting mask. Here's a study that shows how important it is that you have a mask that fits as tightly to your face as possible.
