A passion is found from a hobby....
144 Collection comenzó como un simple pasatiempo para mí. Comencé a tomar clases de costura como una actividad emocionante que me permitiría expresar mi lado creativo. A medida que continuaba con mis lecciones, descubrí que realmente me encantaba hacer patrones y diseñar bolsos. Quería crear bolsos que nadie más tenía.
Tomé mi amor por ambos y en febrero de 2006 lancé 144 Collection. Conocí a Mary Sue (Sewing Susie) en junio de 2006 después de que ella respondió a un anuncio que coloqué para una costurera. Hemos estado trabajando juntos desde entonces. Compartimos historias sobre la vida, la artesanía y el clima (Susie vive en Michigan). Mary Sue es una maravillosa artesana que también hace ganchillos, edredones, tejidos y hace abalorios. Ella es una parte insustituible del equipo de 144 Collection.
El número 144 proviene de la dirección de mi antiguo apartamento donde comencé a coser. Mi logotipo también rinde homenaje al lugar donde comencé a coser (¡es mi edificio!).
Cada bolso y pulsera es único, ya sea mi elección de tela o diseño. Me encanta el color y los estampados retro. A medida que mi pasión crece, estoy constantemente buscando cosas nuevas para crear. Agregué accesorios para bebés en 2010 después de tener 3 amigos que tenían bebés al mismo tiempo.
Mi esperanza es que la gente se divierta tanto con mis bolsos y accesorios como yo los diseño.
144 Collection started as a simple hobby for me. I began taking sewing lessons as an exciting activity that would let me express my creative side. As I continued with my lessons, I found that I really loved making patterns and designing handbags. I wanted to create handbags that no one else had.
I took my love of both and in February 2006 launched 144 Collection. I met Mary Sue (Sewing Susie) in June 2006 after she answered an ad I placed for a seamstress. We have been working together ever since. We share stories about life, crafting, and the weather (Susie lives in Michigan). Mary Sue is a wonderful crafter who also crochets, quilts, knits, and does beadwork. She is an irreplaceable part of the 144 Collection team.
The number 144 comes from my old apartment address where I first began sewing. My logo also pays homage to the place I started sewing (its my building!).
Each handbag and wristlet is unique whether it is my choice of fabric or design. I love color and retro prints. As my passion grows, I am constantly looking for new things to create. I added baby accessories in 2010 after having 3 friends who were all having babies around the same time.
My hope is that people will have as much fun with my handbags and accessories as I do designing them.
