Fast delivery, quality basket. Just the right amount of storage for my projects and it looks nice sitting on the table next to my favorite stitching spot!

Absolutely beautiful basket! I'm very happy with my stitching baskets. The quality is impeccable!
Becoming a Basketcase
In 1992 I took a basket class, I left that class with a basket weaving book and more weaving materials. I immediately sat down on the living room floor and began weaving my way through the book. My addiction to basket weaving began. My Mom reminded me that my addiction had just taken a decade or so hiatus - she mailed me the basket I made at 4-H camp when I was 12, I still have it to this day. After a couple years I decided to try my hand at craft shows. That was fun - for a while. Eventually I joined the staff at Ohio's largest Living History Museum - doing what else, but basket weaving! I enjoyed my 13 years at the museum - I met people from all over the country who came to visit and I got to talk about baskets.
Being a Mom of 3 children who are involved in many activities, I decided it was time to leave the museum and branch out on my own. Etsy was a perfect option for me - a gathering of artisans dedicated to handmade items. I could weave when I had time and I didn't have to wear my docent costume - an 1860's day dress!
All of my baskets are handcrafted by me. I do 100% of every step of the creation process from designing, to weaving and finishing. The wooden bases that are used in some of my baskets are created by my husband - he prepares each base to my specifications. We use pine unless my customer requests a different wood.
I try to use recycled boxes for my shipping - along with recycled shipping materials; bubble wrap, tissue paper and even clean egg cartons. This reduces your cost - I do not charge for handling.
Late in 2013 my husband took a job near Peoria Illinois so now 1803 Ohio Farm Baskets are made in Illinois! Rest assured - it's still just me.
Custom baskets are always welcome! Thanks for stopping by my shop.
Owner, Master Weaver
I wove my first basket at 4-H Camp Shankatunk. Little did I know that signing up for Arts and Crafts class when I was 12 would eventually become a life long passion for me.
