Announcement   My designs are all original, they come from my love of nature. Choosing and cutting the fabrics are the time consuming part of making an art quilt. In some of the larger art quilts there can be hundreds if not thousands of pieces of fabric to make the final picture. When I get it done I feel that it is someplace I would want to go and spend some time. That is the whole purpose of my work, when you look at it, or better yet, when you look into it, it is a place you yourself would love to spend some time. Thank you for taking the time to look at my quilted art. Phyllis

About

Landscape Art Quilter

Being raised in a family of quilters I learned at an early age what it took to make a quilt. When our mother took us to grandmothers house to visit we knew we were going to watch the ladies from the neighborhood quilt on the quilting frame which was on a pulley, it could be pulled up to the ceiling out of the way. My sister and I loved to play with our dolls under the frame as we listened to the ladies talk and laugh.
Later in my life I married and had two beautiful children and was married for 42 years, when my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer, he had surgery and we were sure the doctors got all of it, but later they found more spots, we went to chemo therapy but that did not take care of it, we lost him after a few months. I had always been a traditional quilter, I had never made a landscape art quilt, but I was given this gift to help me through the pain and loss. I started making landscape art quilts and it has been a love and passion of mine for 10 years now. I do make an occasional traditional quilt, mostly for the grandchildren. Phyllis Prom

Being born and raised in the Great Northwest gives me plenty of nature to appreciate. I draw my inspirations from the drives that I take on the back roads where I was raised. I design and make everything myself. I also do commissions upon request.
