A Passion for Yarn and Nature

2DyeCru are creators of pure, natural plant dyes married with responsibly sourced fibers to create unique natural hand-dyed and artyarns. We explore the palette of nature from plants in our gardens and around our homes to more exotic items like indigo and myrobalan, sourcing with responsible purveyors with respect to the plants, wooly creatures, and the people with whom they coexist. It was but a little leap to begin spinning our own yarn as well, making the exact type of yarn we want - from sheep to shawl. We make available natural fibers, naturally dyed and sustainably sourced for creating heirloom craftwork from intricate lace knitting and weaving to chunky and funky artyarns .

All our items are one-of-a-kind and created by us. 2DyeCru began with a passion for yarn and a sense of adventure. For a while now Caitlyn (caitatoes) and Kara (feathery.doom) have been knitting, spinning, and crocheting with purpose, all the while researching yarn and sheep, and finding new ways to delve into fiber arts. Thus began the adventure - seeing how we can mix excitement for good fiber with the desire for vibrant, personal colors. This excitement turned into 2DyeCru.

We want to share with you what we want as well. Personal, natural color and a yarn spun unique every time. We work hard (and have fun!) to bring you the best color adventures we can for the best prices.

We guarantee that every color we produce is from natural sources and hand-dyed, and every handspun hank is done personally by the two of us! This process takes time and effort, but it is no less than what we would do for ourselves.

We want to spread the word of natural dyes done right, and a passion for our craft.

Thank you for visiting our shop!

2DyeCru are two strange spin-sters who have a passion for yarn and puns. We work hard on all of our products, and the science we do is truly one of a kind.

We do our best to represent colors, weights, yardage, etc. of our products, but all monitors display differently and handspun, handmade items are sometimes difficult to quantify but always delightful.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to send us a message!

Additional policies and FAQs
All of our yarn products are either handspun, hand-dyed, or both!

Each yarn is double washed after dyeing to ensure the color is true and stable. Some items made with indigo may still have some 'rub off' during working or bleed when washing your finished project at first, but the depth of color is fixed and we try to minimize this the best we can. In general it is not recommended to leave items in the sun for long periods as there may be fading. Contact us with any questions about an item and we will be happy to answer questions about particular natural dyestuffs!

We cannot duplicate exact colors. All items are truly unique! Our regular batches run anywhere from 1-5 skeins, so please keep this in mind when placing an order and purchase the amount for your project all at once to minimize variations in your finished objects (if that is the desired result!).

Contact us if you are interested in a custom batch of larger quantities, natural dye material availability dependent, of course. Wild-crafted dyestuffs are seasonally and sustainably harvested.

Colors are represented as accurately as possible, but monitors and electronic devices may vary.
