Announcement   Due to the postage increase I have changed my shipping to flat rate Priority shipping boxes through USPS. Because of the bulk of the items I sell, despite not weighing much, they now are classified as packages. Placing them in a flat rate box is now cheaper than shipping First Class as I had previously.

Handwoven belts, guitar straps, and more! My style ranges widely so be sure to take a good look around :)

All listings that are pre-made ship in 1-2 business days from date of purchase.

About

A World Full of Colors and Textures

I tried several different art forms before discovering weaving. I dabbled in drawing but didn't have the patience to put in the practice time it would take to get better. I'm sure many can relate. So I put my limited drawing skills to printmaking, but that didn't stick either. Next I tried drawing with thread in the form of tapestry weaving.

And that's when I found it. Inkle weaving. It's so simple and yet so much fun! I really enjoy the way the colors and textures come together in a piece. I have found so many ways to vary the technique to create new patterns.

The best part is getting to share my work with others. It makes me so happy to offer unique gifts for people. That's why I offer the guitar strap kits as well. So people can create wonderful art for their musician friends without having to figure out the pesky bits on their own.

I would like it if I could weave as my primary business. But then you'd be paying at least $100 for a belt! It takes hours to weave a project, and that's not including the time to hand sew them. Besides, I'd go crazy being around the house all day. So by day I work in a lab which I also find a lot of fun. Maybe I just like repetitive work? lol.

I hope you like my work as much as I like making it. Thanks for stopping by!

I enjoy weaving and being able to provide quality handmade items to people that they can't find elsewhere. Weaving has become my primary expression of art. I have a lot of fun with textures and colors. There's always something new to try!

I love inkle weaving and there are so many uses for the bands. They add color and uniqueness to life and increase the value of anything they are added to. I have many weavings surrounding me everyday. I sell my work here so that you can too.

Additional policies and FAQs
Categories:
Historical belts are ones I consider to have a more traditional pattern. Sometimes they are of more period materials as well, but they can be acrylic or cotton so be sure to read the materials section.

Novelty yarn belts will be ones that contain specialty yarns. They tend to be sparkly, fuzzy, or otherwise not your typical yarn.

Other belts are ones that do not fit well into either category. The could be historical in appearance but use a novelty yarn, or be an unusual pattern using standard yarns.

Custom Orders:
Custom orders are welcomed. I will quote a time frame based on your needs and my current schedule at the time of the request.

I typically do more fantasy or everyday patterns. I can do period or Renaissance Faire appropriate patterns as well. Just let me know what you're looking for and we'll create something together :)

Length, materials, pattern complexity and sewing requests all affect the cost. Refer to currently listed items for an idea of my pricing patterns.

Measurements:
For lengths, I always round down. Trim, ribbon and unfinished bands measurements do not include unpatterned or unusable ends

I like to think I weave fairly evenly so the width measurement should be accurate, but it is possible for portions to be wider or skinnier. It is a rough measurement, given the bumpy edges of the weavings, taken at what appears to be the average/overall width of the piece.

Allergies:
All yarn is stored in sealed bins and weavings are stored in a cabinet. However, during weaving, the yarn is very exposed to cats. I remove as much hair as I can by hand and using tape, but the items are not washed before shipping. There may still be a cat hair or two on them.

Items are woven and stored in a smoke-free home.

Exact material content of the yarns used will be listed when available. I try to guess the content of unknown yarns but if you are allergic to cotton, wool, acrylic, etc it may be best to avoid the products that have an unknown in the materials section. Wool is stored in a separate bin from other yarns. All other fibers might come in contact with each other during storage.
