Ever evolving family creativity
Years ago, I took an earring design class while on vacation in Vermont. I loved it so much, I decided to start making jewelry with my young twin daughters for a fun activity we could enjoy together. We ended up creating so many things we knew we needed to make a small business out of it. Our first craft fair took place that Fall where I met a fellow artist who told me about Etsy. That is how our Etsy journey began.
My girls created our name -- 3 Bead Designs -- because we were the "3 beaders". We have evolved from beading to more vintage inspired creations and metal working. Each piece is designed and created by us and many are one-of-a-kind. My girls are now teenagers and my models in all my photos. My son has recently started with texturizing some metal pieces and helping with shows. He is the "Hammer Master."
We like to support our fellow Etsians and most of our materials come from US based Etsy supply shops. We use the highest quality materials we can find and aim to keep our designs affordable, long lasting, and safe for sensitive skin.
Since that first meager craft fair, we have grown our family venture into a successful art and craft fair business around Western North Carolina and South Carolina. We have our jewelry in several downtown Asheville boutiques as well. Etsy is a wonderful outlet for us to sell our creations in other states and countries.
Hello and thank you for visiting 3 Bead Designs! I live in beautiful Asheville, NC with my husband, three children, plus two siamese cats and two Vizslas. We hope you enjoy our easy to wear, affordable designs.

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging
My necklaces and rings arrive in a gift box, tissue paper, and ribbon ready for gifting. My bracelets are packaged in a soft hand stamped muslin drawstring bag.
I will gladly include a personal note--just put it in your "notes to seller" upon checkout.
I do not include a receipt unless requested.
Aluminum will not tarnish. Aluminum bracelets should be rolled over the wrist not bent opened and closed, repeated bending may weaken the metal and lead to breakage.
Sterling silver will tarnish over time. Keep silver pieces in a baggy while not being worn, it will help slow tarnish. Polishing pads for silver can be purchased online. Some people have skin reactions to sterling silver that can cause skin discoloration. It is rare, but possible. Applying a thin coating of clear finger nail polish can help prevent this.
Brass and copper will tarnish. Both of these metals, especially copper, have the ability to turn the skin green. It's not a quality issue it's a science issue.
