Hi there, my name is Sara Pulver and I am the captain of this little art ship called 3crows, the 3 in 3crows stands for Me, Myself and I.

Painting and making things seems to have become my mainstay and I feel lucky for the serpentine set of circumstances that have led me to this place called My Life Right Now. I live a simple one by the great Lake Ontario, where entertainment is a backyard full of birds and a serendipity-kissed blessing of 3 dogs of various sizes and temperaments. (in shorthand: turns out the stray we took in was pregnant.)

I have developed numerous series, most of which you can find in my shop and also have a penchant towards making things out of found or tossed objects. I love doing custom paintings of families and their pets and find that I have something unique to add to the vast field of wonderful illustrators here on Etsy.

Here's how 3crows got it's name:
About 20 years ago I was walking down the street and all of a sudden these birds were making a terrible racket. I looked up and saw that it was three crows cawing away. I'd always heard that three crows was a sign of something bad, death of some kind, so I sarcastically muttered 'great' and the racket stopped just as suddenly as it started.
I never forgot those three crows cawing and I was actually thinking of them about 10 years later as I was flipping through a book on Native Americans. I said to myself, "I wonder what MY Indian name would be." And right at that second I turned to a page with a picture of three crows with their mouths open, like they were cawing! And an Indian name was born.

I am not Indian though I do admire the culture, especially the respect for the animals and the planet. I feel like we've gotten pretty far away from that kind of regard and I guess at the core of my painting happy cats and dogs and whatnots is the hope of inspiring people to care and to take care of all living things (maybe not fleas), and also to sort of send a little flag up to the people who get it (hey!).
