I grew up going to fabric stores with my sister watching my mom sew our clothes. I sewed a little but never got the sewing bug until recently. I saw how sewing gave my sister a sense of accomplishment and pride. I also find hanging out at fabric stores to be therapeutic. Looking for something smaller and less intimidating, I started making bags/totes/pencil cases/makeup bags. While some are more technically harder than clothing, I found my zone. I started with easy projects to build by skills and practice practice practice. My husband is a huge comic book geek, so I ended up making a couple of custom bags for carrying Heroclix for gaming session with some of his friends. I progressed into bag making fairly quickly. Currently I am playing with different patterns to see what I enjoy, what fabrics I like, what fabrics and patterns challenge me. Some projects turn out better than others. The name of the store came from a visit from my sister where my niece Jacqueline gave me the courage to start my own store. Sitting there with the three dogs and a cat drinking tea, the idea popped into my head - 3 dogs and a cat sewing.
