ABOUT ME (and about the 5 stars)...

My name is Michelle Lane. I am a professional resume writer with over a decade of writing and proofreading experience. I know the "tricks of the trade," and I know how to craft your resume so that it stands out from the rest and gets past the screening process. I can help design your resume so that it has the best chance of making it through the screening process and into the hands of an actual person. I believe in writing resumes that look good and are, most importantly, high in quality content.

For years, I worked with a leading resume writing service, quickly becoming one of their top, 5 star-rated, resume writers (stars are based on customer ratings and reviews). I have created resumes for clients that were part of the companies' premier, several hundred dollar, resume writing packages; however, I was getting paid much less. That's why I've decided to strike out on my own and create a resume writing service here on Etsy.

THE PROCESS...

PURCHASING A WRITING PACKAGE...
1. Select which package you would like to purchase. If you know which resume you would like to use (based on the templates in my shop), please indicate that in the notes section. If you are unsure, we can decide on a resume design together.

2. Please verify the email address you have on file is correct. All correspondence will be taking place through email. I do not issue refunds due to incorrect email addresses. I will, however, resend to a different email address.

3. Submit payment.

4. Upon receipt of payment, please send an email to fivestarresumes [!at] yahoo.com and I will send the Process PDF download outlining what to expect of the process and the information I need from you along with some questions (it's a painless process, don't worry, but you need to communicate with me.). If you have an existing resume, send me a copy and I'll get started.

5. I will send you the first draft in PDF format within the timeline indicated (in business days), provided you send the information requested. There is a 10 business day deadline for you to review and edit your first draft, but rarely do resumes need that. Subsequent drafts will be sent in Word and PDF format.

Policy Note: Unfortunately, I need to add this note due to the actions of some clients finding a loophole and receiving resumes for free. I do not issue refunds after the first draft is sent (this is noted in my shop policies); however, I will go above and beyond to make sure my clients are happy with the final product. I take get pride in my work and my relationships with my clients and I value your trust in me and in the importance of these documents. Please keep in mind that with first drafts, changes are to be expected, in fact, welcomed. First drafts are rarely perfect, but the collaborative process is what leads to a great final product. I use the information you send me to create a first draft, and many times, follow up is required on both our parts. Please be patient with the process.

6. After revisions are complete, I will send your final copies in PDF and Word (editable) format (per your approval). Please note: It can take as much as 10 days to complete the entire process. It typically goes faster, but if you do need your resume sooner, please purchase the expedite add-on and send me an email to verify I can accommodate you :-)

7. If you have purchased the LinkedIn Profile Edit, or it is included in your package, the LinkedIn document (with your information) will be sent to you after the final draft of your resume has been approved. Note: I do not access my clients' LinkedIn accounts directly. A document (customized) will be provided that you can use to create/update your account.

NOTE: I am not responsible for formatting or other issues that may result due to incompatibility with previous Office versions.

Due to the amount of time I take on each resume, I limit my number of sales to five resumes per week. If I have "sold out" for the week, please check back next week. If you have an urgent project, please send me a message and I will try to fit you in. You can also purchase the "Expedited Package" and your resume will move to the top of the pack.

Why are shipping instructions included in your policies?

Etsy, by default, includes shipping instructions. Please disregard. For some listings, a one cent shipping charge may be added.

What if I don't answer your emails or give you any background information?

Please respond to your emails! I cannot create a resume without your help. If I don't hear from you within 10 business days, then I will attempt to create a resume for you based on whatever information you have provided, or I will send you a template.

Do I have to send a resume?

No. As long as you give me some information to work with, I can create a resume for you. Please keep in mind, the more information you give me, the more comprehensive your resume will be.

What if I don't like the resume?

The customer is always right. I am willing to work with you until you are satisfied. I do, however, limit my revisions to six. It is VERY rare, though, that it takes that many. :-)

Is there a review process for cover letters and LinkedIn profiles like there are for resumes?

No. Your cover letter and LinkedIn profile are based on the resume that we finalized together. They are both unique and differ from your resume, but the basics are the same. If, however, you have a question or concern about either document, please let me know.

Do you issue refunds?

I do NOT issue refunds after the first draft is sent (this is noted in my shop policies); however, I will go above and beyond to make sure my clients are happy with the final product. How long does it take for you to return edits I have made?

Please allow 2 business days for me to return edits. I am typically much faster, but I do indicate 2 business days. If you have not heard back from me within 2 business days, please reach out. I never let more than 2 business days go by unless I have let you know otherwise.

Will I be able to change my resume myself?

Yes! This is your resume and I want you to be able to use it in the future. After your resume is finalized, I will send you editable copies of any documents you have purchased. They will be sent in Word format.

Who verifies content?

I will do a thorough job of proofreading your document; however, it is your responsibility to verify content. This includes titles, dates, links, and overall accuracy.
