About

7 Closets

Behind the curtains, 7 Closets Vintage is run by a husband and wife team, Lori and Frank Alexander. Together, the two of them divide and conquer the world of vintage fashion for their clients, or at the very least, subsidize Lori’s shopping addiction by selling some of the things she just ‘can’t live without’.
Lori is the catalyst behind 7 Closets. She concieved the idea of the store one afternoon while faced with a massive lot of vintage clothes that came up at an estate sale. Pondering her own love of vintage clothes, the store was her way of turning something she loved into her very own business. Today Lori is CEO, Chief Procurement Officer, Creative Director, Model, Muse, and Graphic Designer for the business.
Frank is the underpinnings of 7 Closets. Listening to him, you would think 7 Closets was his idea to channel his wife’s love of shopping into something profitable. His delusions aside, thankfully he takes care of many of the practical matters associated with 7 Closets. Today he is the Chief Operating and Financial Officer, Head of Logistics, and Photographer. That really means he keeps track of the money and shipping, for which the CEO is VERY grateful.

Shipping
We ship USPS First Class Mail to US, Canada, Australia, the UK & Ireland, generally within 2 business days of receiving payment. If you are interested in shipping to another location, or for expedited shipping options, please send a conversation and we will happily provide a tailored quote. For simplicity, we charge a flat rate for shipping items based upon the size and type of item, with discounts for multiple items. The actual shipping costs may be more or less than the actual shipping rate. Please let us know if you have specific request for how something is shipped, otherwise we will select the most appropriate shipping based upon the type of item. Generally, garments will be wrapped in tissue, sealed in a plastic bag, and shipped via padded envelope.
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds or Exchanges are not available unless in the event of a gross mistake on our part. We take the description of items very seriously and do our best to accurately describe the type, quality, age, condition, and measurement of our inventory. We make every effort to accurately reproduce the color of our items in the listing, but variations in light and monitors mean that some variation is inevitable. With that being said, mistakes do happen. If something is wrong, contact us immediately and we will make it right!

Condition & Measurements

All garments that we sell are vintage and will show some level of wear, see below for specific descriptions of the quality.

Excellent: Almost no visible signs of wear, looks new in almost every respect
Very good: Some signs of vintage wear, but not generally noticeable
Good: Visible signs of wear, but no actual damage.
As Found: This is a well loved garment that may shows plenty of wear or have obvious damage, but for other reasons may still have great intrinsic value.
**Specific Issue: See description

**On occasion we will list items that may have specific condition issues or damage. We will document this issue carefully and provide pictures showing the condition or damage. The price of such items will reflect their condition, so as with our other items, no refunds or exchanges will be offered.

Measurements are taken with the garment lying flat, and in most cases doubled.

Size: Size of garment as reported by the maker, if listed on the tag, or a clearly noted estimate (in modern US catalog size)
Shoulder: Taken from one shoulder seam to the next
Sleeve: Taken from the shoulder seam to end of cuff
Bust: Taken generally 4-6 inches below the shoulder, or for fitted garments at the bust line. Doubled
Waist: Taken at the narrowest part of the top of the garment. Doubled
Hip: Taken generally 4-6 inches below the waist. Doubled
Length: For tops, taken from the shoulder seam to the bottom of garment. For skirts, from the waist to hem. For dresses, generally two measurements are given, from shoulder seam to hip, and from hip to hem.

Please read the actual measurements carefully. Where a garment has been modeled, the garment may be pinned on the model to reflect a natural fit.
