My mom taught herself to sew as a teenager. By the time I came around it was part of her identity. The lady can sew anything. She made many, many of my clothes. All of my Halloween costumes were homemade. Everyone in the family had a quilt (or three) that she made. She did craft shows and sold all kinds of handmade items. At her day job she was a florist, but at home she was always sewing.

I've always been a little intimidated by her abilities. She taught me some basics when I was young but I figured I could never be as good as her so I didn't try.

One day sometime after I graduated college I found out a close friend was having a baby. I wanted to do something special. I consulted with Mom, borrowed one of her many old Singers and got to work.

I probably called Mom twenty times. How do you thread this thing again? I can't remember which way the bobbin goes. How do I adjust the tension? She patiently guided me along and tolerated all of my phone calls. In the end, I it turned out pretty good, most of my corners matched up, and it was actually fairly square.

Fast forward several years... I have made many baby quilts, followed some zippered pouch tutorials I found on the Internet, and made a number of purses. When another friend's baby shower came along I decided to do something different.

I fell in love with some onesies I saw on Pinterest. They had little ties and suspenders sewn on them. Adorable. I had never done appliqué and it intimidated me, but I've always loved a challenge. I did call Mom a few times, but I figured it out. Those first few onesies I did weren't great but I was proud I had done something new.

I made more onesies for a cousin's baby and they were a hit. Many friends and family encouraged me to make some to sell. After selling a few I decided to open an Etsy shop in May 2015.

I have become a much more competent sewer. I still ask Mom for technical advice now and then, but I'm pretty confident now. I am happy that I could learn from her and share her passion.

I try to create unique products that are different than what's already out there. There are tons of cute things for girls, but not so many for boys, so I have embraced making boy stuff. I live with a couple of nerds (my husband and son) and keep them in mind when I find science and technology themed fabrics. I am a proud Okie and love to create items that reflect my state and heritage. I like to play with prints and colors to make fun and unique combinations.

I love when I see a kid wearing something I made. I am proud of the things I create and look forward to adding more fun and unique products to my shop.

Cute stuff for kids.

Most of the items I offer are one-of-a-kind. If you see something you like, but want it in a different size I am happy to make a custom order. If you need something in a particular color I can make that too.
