Finding My Voice Through Pictures
It's hard for me to find the words to describe my art... I never considered myself to be an "artist". An artist to me was someone that you would find in art galleries or in books.
Growing up I was always very shy...now realizing that I'm an introvert in every sense of the word. Drawing for me has always been my *safe * place, so much easier to just feel than to actually tell someone what was going on inside. It was never a thought that my little sketches could go anywhere outside of my own journals. There were a lot of years here & there that would go by without even picking up a pencil.
It all changed for me when my dad passed away in 2010, this is when my passion for art was really awakened. He was my kindred spirit. I didn't always feel this way, but something happens to you when you grow up and reflect on all that you are and where you've come from.
So with no "real" plans to become an artist I'm afraid I have no impressive art schools to go on about, my only resume I have to offer is the art you see here. Although I'm not sure that you can *teach* feelings, you see, so much emotion & feeling goes into each piece that I create. There's nothing I love more than staring at a blank sheet of paper wondering what perhaps will come to life next. I usually don't have an "intention" when I start a piece... my passion & imagination are usually my only references.
So it's these passions…. the light inside that drives my pencil. When I look at my daughter it's not her beautiful features, but her precious & pure spirit that I *see* when I look at her.... this is what transpires in my art......
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Artist
Just girl with many emotions & a strong desire to put those feelings to paper... Drawing was always just a hobby, but it was through my little ones that I learned that this is what I was meant to do & to never stop reaching for the stars.
