Empecé a crear productos caprichosos cuando era muy pequeña. Pensé que era realmente genial dibujar árboles, todo tipo de árboles. Nunca tuve ningún entrenamiento, por lo que definitivamente estaban estilizados en el mejor de los casos. Pero mantuvo mi interés y luego comencé a conseguir viejas piezas de joyería y cuentas y comencé a hacer collares tontos.
A medida que crecía un poco, tomé clases con mi esposo, Jack, en vidrieras y me encantó. Muchos años ayudó a pagar la Navidad para nuestros hijos, haciendo lámparas, hadas, ángeles, ventanas, incluso marcos de fotos con zapatillas de bailarina unidas a ellos para una pequeña dama especial.
Nuestros hijos crecieron y comenzaron sus propias carreras y comencé a tomar yoga y ser voluntario en un centro de bienestar. El Centro quería crear un jardín de hadas y me preguntó si podía ayudar. Bueno, estaba encantado de poder jugar, crear e imaginar cómo podría ser, pero nunca antes había hecho un jardín de hadas. Mi esposo y yo hicimos dos casas de hadas realmente salvajes; uno era Fairies Can Moondance y otro hecho de una calabaza que era tan adorable
Y ese fue el comienzo. Poco después la gente me pedía que les enseñara a hacer casas de hadas con sus hijos. Esto fue lo mejor!!!! Tuve varias clases con no más de 8 niños a la vez y les proporcioné todo lo que necesitaban para hacer una casa de hadas espectacular; simplemente dejamos que fluya ese brillo!!!!!
A menudo se le pedía a Jack que usara sus habilidades de carpintería para rescatarnos cuando necesitábamos un buzón o conseguir algo para ponernos de pie. Las casas de hadas conducen a atrapasoles, luego pulseras curativas y aretes, y luego así sucesivamente. Ahora, cada temporada parece que tenemos un nuevo producto que añadir.
El año pasado fueron luces solares, pintadas a mano o adornadas con bolas de colores. Luego vinieron los atrapasueños. Una vez más, me pidieron en el centro de bienestar que enseñara a los niños cómo hacer un atrapasueños. (Muchos adultos también mostraron interés).
Los niños están bajo tal presión hoy en día, que tener un atrapasueños, conocer su origen y su propósito era crítico. Para mí esto es tan importante como hacer el atrapasueños. He tenido niños que me dicen, incluso me escriben para decirme que no han tenido un mal sueño desde que obtuvieron su atrapasueños.
Este año me preguntó una muy buena amiga que usa un brazalete de alerta médica si podía diseñar algo para ella que fuera bonito, asequible y la hiciera sentir bien; así que comenzamos una línea de pulseras de alerta médica. Estos acaban de ser lanzados, así que veremos cómo va esto. Estamos abiertos a hacerlos para todos los tamaños y una buena variedad de piedras.
Es bueno decidir que sea cual sea el producto en el que trabajemos cada día será algo que te hará sonreír porque ayuda a mantener viva la magia.

I first got started in creating whimical products when I was very little. I thought it was really cool to draw trees, all kinds of trees. I never had any training, so they were definitely stylized at best. But it keep my interest and then I began to get old pieces of jewelry and beads and began making silly necklaces.
As I got a little older a took classes with my husband, Jack, in stained glass art and loved it. Many a year it helped to pay for Christmas for our children, making lamps, fairies, angels, windows, even picture frames with ballarina slippers attached to them for a special little lady.
Our children grew and started their own careers and I started taking yoga and volunteering in a wellness center. The Center wanted to create a fairy garden and asked if I could help. Well, I was thrilled to be able to play, create and imagine what it could look like, but I had never done a fairy garden before. My husband and I made two really wild fairy houses; one was Fairies Can Moondance and one made from a Pumpkin that was so adorable
And that was the beginning. Soon after people were asking me to teach them to make fairy houses with their children. This was the best!!!! I had a number of classes with no more than 8 children at a time and supplied everything they needed to make a spectacular fairy house; we just let that glitter flow!!!!!
Jack was often asked to use his carpentry skills to bail us out when we needed a mailbox or get something to stand up straight. Fairy houses lead to suncatchers, then healing bracelets and earrings, and then on and on it went. Now, every season it seems we have a new prodcut to add.
Last year it was solar lights, handpainted or bejeweled with colorful baubles. Then came the dream catchers. Again I was asked at the wellness center to teach children how to make a dream catcher. (Lots of adults showed interest as well.)
Children are under such pressure today, that to have a dream catcher, know its origin and its purposed was critical. To me this is as important as actually making the dream catcher. I have had children tell me, even write to me to say they haven't had a bad dream since they got their dream catcher.
This year I was asked by a very good friend who wears a medical alert bracelet if I could design something for her that would be pretty, affordable and make her feel good; so we started a line of medical alert bracelets. These have just been released so we will see how this goes. We are open to making them for all sizes and a good variety of stones.
It is nice to decide that whichever product we work on each day it will be something that will make you smile because it helps keep the magic alive.
