This tail is the most beautiful one I have ever had. It's so big the whole picture couldn't be posted! It's 22 inches, fluffy, and the color is perfect. Every time I purchase something from this shop, I get more than I expected and am completely satisfied. I trust the owner to always give me good suggestions and help me find what I am looking for. I would 100 perfect recommend purchasing.
Curious Menagerie Designs started on a kitchen table in my childhood home in the summer of 2012. The impetus occurred during a mixed media assignment for my college class of the same name called “Altered History”, during which I created a book of animals dressed in the fine clothing of the 1800s. I bought gears and fur scraps, intending to use them as physical elements of my otherwise fine art style book. The idea was to use the backs of canvases as shadow boxes for these items. Once I got my hands on the materials, though, the vision changed.
I was no longer interested in putting these precious materials into a simple project that I would present, hand in, and no longer look at. They deserved more than that.
Although I focus more on the spiritual and The fusing of animal with vintage intrigues me. And speaks to my love of Victorian fashion and intricate movement, while harmonizing with my love of all things raw and shaped by the wind, frost, heat, and harsh temper of mother nature.
The use of animal remains spoke both to my love of biology and my spiritual connection to the earth. Regular crafting has changed into a meditative process, similar to prayer, or worship. My shop now mainly focuses on that natural part of my spirituality. I bring together the remains of animals and provide totem materials for many people. I chose to work with strictly cruelty-free materials. This way they can carry a physical piece of their spirit animal or guide with them in everyday life, without worrying about where the animal came from. Of course, my fur vials and other offerings can be used as many other things — Wiccans use them as materials, they have found places in people’s curiosity cabinets, some of the furry community wear the tail of their fursona with them, and others wear my earrings, hair pieces, and necklaces simply for fashion and enjoyment.
No matter how they are used, I love my work and I now use this medium to express my creativity, and to help reduce the financial burdens of living with disabilities and a service animal.

All our items use REAL feathers, bones, and fur from REAL animals. None of the animals were killed for their parts. We only use suppliers who reclaim roadkill, use found items, etc. For fur we use fur scraps from professional taxidermists and furriers, this ensures that nothing from the animal goes to waste ans respects the animal.
This shoppe is run by me, Damien Thomas. I am 22 years old, and disabled. I have been creating art for the past 12 years. I have a degenerative connective tissue disorder that affects my joints and my muscles, and now is starting to affect my cardiovascular system. This makes it impossible for me to work a normal job. All profits from this shop go to help feed and take care of my service dog, Abel, and also to help pay our living expenses.
My Mate works on chain-mailing, and other things I do not have the strength to produce, while fine arts and totems are created by me.
We hope you Enjoy!
