We gave this to my new son-in-law for his wedding present. He had drawn a raven giving a ring to a tortoise for their wedding invitation. He loved it. Beautifully made and packaged with a polishing cloth and care instructions. My only feedback for Kathleen: get on Instagram and use it for a marketing tool! ❤️

About

"The love of nature is a passion for those in whom it once lodges. It can never be quenched." - Mary Webb

Nature inspires me. It heals my soul and brings me peace. It allows me to pause a hectic and stressful life, and enjoy moments of stillness and clarity of thought. I'm awed by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, and the creatures that inhabit it. I'm an animal lover at heart, with a deeply rooted respect for wildlife.

If I had to pinpoint what triggered the creation of A Delicate World, I would trace it to a fox I befriended in January 2011 (later nicknamed Squinty). I live in rural Prince Edward Island, and one day saw a fox passing through a neighbouring field. Having a great love of animals, combined with an interest in photography, I decided to head out with my camera. This curious fox noticed me, and approached until there were mere feet separating us! I loved the experience so much that over the next several months, I upgraded my camera equipment and began creating jewelry from my photographs.

The greatest joy I experience with wildlife photography is when my subjects are comfortable enough to ignore me, thus rewarding me with a glimpse into their private lives. It feels as though I'm peering through my lens into another world, far removed from the noise and chaos of daily life. I love being able to share those experiences with others through my photography. Each photograph I take is a moment in time that is meaningful to me.

I've been a needle felting artist for many years, and my sculptures have been featured in several magazines, books, and prominent websites. Since my previous work (Kay's K9s) focused on domestic animals, I wanted my needle felting in this shop to focus on capturing the beauty of wildlife.

I hope my art will inspire you to make room in your life for nature. Our world truly is a delicate world, worthy of admiration and, above all, preservation.
