Welcome to my shop. It is midsummer here in Seldovia and a bit cool this year. But it is warm inside so come on in and sit down, have a cup of coffee. I am baking bread today and the house is warm and smells wonderful. My son Scott just brought me some halibut they caught yesterday and I am packaging it up and putting it in my freezer....oh yes....there is some waiting to go in to the oven also...fresh for tonight with boiled potatoes lots of butter and fresh made rolls.

Sit awhile and visit. My studio is my kitchen table so I get lots of folks stopping by to see the latest thing I am working on.

I am a life long Alaskan, born in Ketchikan. I am a grandmother of 16 and a mother of 6 and very proud of all of them. I was a substance abuse counselor before I retired and now I get to do what I love....which could be a lot of things...right now it is these little crabs. I also do mermaids and octopus ink paintings.

Alaska Grandmother follows her dream

I retired from working with the dream of supporting my self with my craft work. Harder than I thought! But I am forging ahead, learning as I go.

I do a variety of things from watercolor paintings, prints and cards to Octopus Ink paintings. I also work with beads..but what I love most right now is working with polymer clay!

Creating sweet little creatures from polymer clay is just fun. And I am always surprised to see what comes, as I never start with a firm plan but, prefer to let the clay take me where it will. From the silly litter hermits, to the baby mermaids, to the Wendy Froud style dolls....they all just emerge from the clay.
