About AGCoutureCorsetry

On Etsy since 2017

AGCC is a Lisbon based label which produces high end corsets, costumes, accessories, bridal gowns etc. limited only by our imagination.

Armando Gabriel studied fashion design in South Africa and it was clear from the outset that tailoring and especially corsetry were to set the mood for most of his future work.
Studies in film and theatre illustration in Milan further developed his knowledge about the history of costume. A course on the manufacture of period pieces, in Évora, Portugal, provided the perfect support for a deeper understanding of corsetry.
In 2007, Armando had the privilege of working in Paris with one of the world´s master corset creators, Mr. Pearl. In Mr. Pearl´s atelier, he worked for designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Thierry Mugler, and burlesque Queen, Dita Von Teese amongst others.
This experience was fundamental for a greater understanding of the dynamics of the corset and its influence on the silhouette.
All his creations ally new materials with original cuts and finishings.
A great deal of dedication goes into every piece.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

Browse through our catalogue.
Please contact the studio if you wish to order an item from the list, made to measure.
We may also collaborate with you to produce an item or an outfit based on an idea you might have.
Make sure you order well in advance of the deadline, bearing in mind that couture pieces require a lot of time for production.
Delivery time will depend on the complexity of the project.
A basic corset will take approximately 2-8 weeks to produce.
Accessories take 2-3 weeks.
Complete outfits require 6-12 weeks. Bridal wear, historic pieces and more involved items may require even more time.
Extra hand work such as appliqués, crystals, lace inserts or any other detail not in the original design implies extra budget.

Sizing details

When ordering an item, tailor made, we will require your accurate measurements. (Please contact us for details)
Please note that we cannot be held responsible for measurements that are inaccurately taken.
We will be as accurate as possible, allowing for a small discrepancy which can occur in the construction of a garment.

Care instructions

All items need to be Dry Cleaned by Hand!

For specific areas, such as the underarm, use a small amount of silk soap, diluted in warm water. Use a towel to carefully rub over the affected area and rinse towel in fresh water. Repeat until clean.

To best protect your corset, wear a cotton bodice (made from an old T-shirt, like a boob-tube) over your skin and under your corset.
This will protect your skin and the corset. Perspiration is acidic and ruins fabric.
