Announcement   My schedule for Halloween costumes is now full. The small accessory items still listed will ship in time for Halloween.

If you are interested in one of my costumes and don't need it until after Halloween, please convo me and I can put up a private listing for you.

*****PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT A COSPLAY COMMISSION*****

I will begin taking on new commissions again the end of November for delivery the end of December/January. So if you don't need your costume until at least December, then feel free to contact me.

Yes, sometimes my new commission prices are higher than other people's. But this is my full time job, I have to account for where all of my time is going, from drafting and fitting the pattern to your measurements, to actually making the costume. I'm not a hobbyist costumer who only does this a few hours a week. My rates must include pay for my labor so I can keep my lights on and a roof over my head. After taxes, materials and fees for selling online, on most costumes, I only make $10-$15/hr for my pay. So please keep this in mind when you realize you're asking me to make you a costume custom fit to your size and specifications.

Any costume commission designs are mine to use to offer for sale in my shop or on my website if I choose. If you wish your design to be unique and owned only by you, there is a $100 fee for purchase of exclusivity of the pattern design. I can still make alterations to the design and sell it in my shop even if you purchase exclusivity.

I've received a number of requests for items I'm not able to create, so I thought maybe it would help if I outlined what I'm able to do before you request something so you know if I'll be able to help you.

I'm more than happy to help you come up with a cosplay costume that you'll love. Please look around my shop and notice the style of my work. I do mostly dresses, skirts and tunics and what few items have pants or pantaloons, they're unfitted and baggy. Detail work is screen printed or embroidered. If your character or design idea will work with my style, then please by all means contact me!

Now here's what I won't be able to help you with:

First and foremost, I ***DO NOT*** do Disney Princess, Marvel or Homestuck costumes. Please don't ask, I absolutely will not make them.

I am not able to provide footwear, wigs, stockings, weapons or anything related. I simply do not have the sources for those items.

Second, I do not do any metal, armor or leatherworking. If it's going to involve sculpting any kind of armor pieces, even from foam, I'm not able to help you. I don't have the experience or equipment at this time to do those things properly. HOWEVER, my husband has set up a 3D printing shop here on Etsy, that can be found at https://www.etsy.com/shop/Whiteblade3D where he may be able to help you with smaller items that can be 3D printed to your specifications.

On this same note, I'm not able to recreate any jewelry pieces (necklaces, earrings, bracelets, tiaras, etc.).

Third, I don't do bodysuits, unitards, leotards or any kind of fitted pants. My strengths simply don't lie with these items. I've learned over the years it's impossible for me to get these kinds of things to fit right unless I have the person readily available for multiple fittings.

And finally, I am not able to do a lot of hand painting. Detail work on my costumes must be either something I can recreate with ribbon sewn on, screen printed or embroidered. Embroidery is limited to no more than 4" X 5.5" in size due to the limitations of my embroidery machine. Screen printing is limited to 13" x 15" at the largest.

If you aren't sure if I can help you with your item, then please convo me and ask. We may be able to come up with something that you'll be happy with.

About

Custom Cosplay costumes

I started out making things for my dolls when I was 8 or 9 years old. My grandmother taught me the basics on her old Bernina sewing machine. By high school I was altering patterns to fit me and making my own clothing. By the time I was married in my early 20s, I'd started into costuming and that quickly became my main focus.

My philosophy about cosplay costumes is that they aren't costumes, they're that character's clothes, so they should be made like clothes, and meant to be worn repeatedly and cleaned.

My children's costumes are all made with everything sewn securely on, and intended to be worn and played in repeatedly. They're all wash-n-wear, so you don't have to worry about them falling apart after one trip through the washer. Most children outgrow my costumes before they wear them out.

My bags are made from high quality brocades and satins, and always securely stitched. Dice bags are made from high quality poly/cotton blend fabric and panne velvet and high quality faux leather.

I grew up learning how to sew from both my mother and my grandmother, who learned the tricks of the trade from my great grandfather, who was a professional tailor.

I also sell in another shop called TallBlackSheep, where I sell "big and tall" mens' shirts and pullovers.

I've been sewing for over 30 years and costuming for over 20. I do everything on my costumes, including the sewing, beading, applique work, embroidery, polymer clay and screen printing. I'm a one person operation and outsource nothing.
