A hippie adventure is loving artful creation while you work.

The Story: From the Beginning - 2013

in May of 2013, the initial goal was to have a place to feature items I designed and created while growing product line for a local pop-up market in the DFW area. The business continued to grow and products began to identify themselves as best sellers in 2014. I love how the shop has morphed both online and locally based on this activity.

In 2015, we'll see more concentrated development of the LePads line of products with the current baby in birthing...a starter pack designed around pre-teens just beginning their menses as an easy way for mothers to have that conversation and give their daughters a gift at the same time. Refining the packaging of the LePads line of products will also be a focus as is adding new items to the personal care section.

Here we are, past mid-year and the shop is doing better and better all the time. 2015 is shaping up to be our best year so far and I am so appreciative of my customers. The pre-teen starter pack named "Mad'Moiselle" sold out completely after a few months. I am changing things up and have re-listed with a different wet/dry bag. The next items are works in progress for the personal care section including body balms & lotion bars and DIY kits. I am really proud of the personal aromatherapy products, from diffuser pendants to small ceramic dishes that include aromatherapy "pebbles" and some really awesome essential oil blends. (Edited to add these have been moved over to our online store at ahippieadventure.com)

Now, we are approaching the end of the first quarter of 2016 and business in the shop has been gaining lots of ground with "the best sales month ever" becoming a trend since December 2015. The leader is still the LePads line with the newest addition of interlabial pads topping everything in popularity. Who knew these little babies were going to go wildfire? The major focus this year will be additional prints and size availability for the LePads line and new designs for the aromatherapy pendants & bowls and finally...getting all the products that have been completed properly photographed and listed. As always, AHA! is a work in progress and so far it's been a blast!

2016 ended up being the best at gaining ground in sales which led to innovation within the production phase for me. Focusing solidly on LePads and the personal accessories that complement the line and simplifying the shop by finding a better venue for my ceramic and aromatherapy products. 2017 has me researching and developing towards expansion in the form of a dedicated workshop, finessing product labeling and packaging and the entire presentation side of things. As the business gets better, I too, get better and more knowledgeable. What a way to feed the creative beast than learning more.

It's been a while since I've given an update here. 2017 found us excelling in product development and also getting into our dedicated workshop by last quarter of the year which you can see the process on our blog http://ahippieadventure.com/blog/

This brings us to 2018 where we have now started to concentrate more effort to refining our website. We have also branched out into branding for local businesses and schools (booster sales) and other ideas are a brewing. Keep an eye out for more in our webstore and as ever, new items in this Etsy shop the main driver of our creativity, keeps possibilities endless!

I can't even believe I have celebrated the five year mark last week!

2019 came and went in a flash with lots of shuffling going on between the Etsy shop and our FB page. VIP was a bust and we are back to the grindstone to bring reusable cloth back to our Etsy home. I’d like to thank all of our loyal customers for inspiring me to “bring it” in 2020! Welcome to "A Hippie Adventure" and for everyone who does not know yet, we also have a limited edition children’s boutique on Etsy at DarlingMiss.com come check us out!

Why is the shipping time so long during covid?

With everyone more or less staying home, online shopping has become a superior benefit to many. This has put a strain on logistics for many carriers including FedEx, UPS and USPS in the USA. This has led to back up at distribution locations over and above being impacted by limited flights and truckers to move the glut of packages. Please allow 2-3 weeks delay in transportation once our packages have been dropped off. often times, we have found that items sent vis USPS are not being scanned at all, for this reason we now stand in line at the post office and FedEx to get a receipt validating we have dropped the packages off. Contact us if you would like to see this for your package should it take longer than normal to get to you.
