We are a young educational non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We are an affiliate with the North American Mycological Association and our mission is to educate the public about mushrooms, their identification, various uses and scientific, culinary and environmental value, whilst prioritizing safety; and to promote advancement in the science of mycology.

We run a contest on our Facebook page where the public votes on their favorite mushroom photos taken in Alabama that month. The winning photos are compiled to make this impressive calendar of Alabama's best mushroom photography.

The proceeds from our calendar sales help fund our many projects that help accomplish our mission to educate about and promote fungi, such as the Alabama Fungal Diversity Project and the Alabama Mushroom Festival.
