It was just a simple search for a 3d puzzle, a friends Christmas present that lead me to where I am now .. hocked !! when the search engine came up with a picture of the cutest miniature Christmas house complete with furniture, tree and lights I was baffled. I couldn't make out the flat normal puzzle pieces...so I ordered it, wasn't expensive. About a week later it arrived in a very small flat box (1000s of bits) with instructions book. Every single thing had to be made up, so the challenge was set. I was extremely proud of the first item I'd constructed (a wall unit) It sat in main view on my fireplace. Once complete I was soon looking for more kits to order. My friend loved it, but wouldn't have the patience to make it and she wanted more of a traditional scene. I set about ordering the same kit but redesigning the whole layout...and that was her 1st of 5 custom miniatures ..the smile and her wide eyes were worth every time I groveled on the floor (swearing) looking for the tiny bits dropped on many occasions......
Making my kits I've found myself looking for those items a little special... to add into them or just that stand alone miniature that doesn't cost the earth ..So here I am making small items that can arrived safely by post.
A little Doro : Unique individual pieces...the idea is born chewed up, hopefully made and then I move on. My ideas are never to be mass produced.... where's the magic in that ...
