Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended to for a long time, without break and in all earnestness.

The term "creative practice" has probably been coined long before me, and will (hopefully) be used until the end of time. My creative practice is similar to my yoga practice, to anyone's martial arts or activity practice; it's a lifestyle. When I have ideas, I write them down and save them for a rainy day when I'm not feeling so imaginative. When I see something I like, I either recreate it my way, or build from the original idea. I like to tweak, bend, add, subtract, mold, stretch, rework, and best of all, start from scratch. Those verbs apply to all areas of my life, so it was a seamless transition to form this creative practice.

I will admit, I find a lot of ideas in two places: retail establishments & Pinterest. I take something that is expensive and cheaply made and put my soul into my version of it. I see a DIY Project and I go to town, trying to figure it out, and ultimately ending up with [something] along the way. Best of all, I enjoy taking something that would otherwise be deemed unhealthy, unsafe, unfit, unethical, or just plain "no", and turning it into something resoundingly "yes".

My creative output can seem rather scattered, from yoga-related spiritual items, to bath & beauty products; decor to photography; recipe collections to decoupage; to the moon and back. That's where the name Independent Inventive came from. It's vague - just as my practice is. With me, in both my mind and my life, you never know what you're going to get. Truth to be told, I never know what I'm going to get. But, by surrendering to the nuanced nature of my imagination, I achieve true freedom and self acceptance. I hope to share these things with you, and inspire you to start you own creative practice.

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you; in other words, be kind while you're here and feel free to convo me with any questions, tips, suggestions, or kind words.
Also, if you have ANY questions about size, material, quality, price, shipping, or discounts, PLEASE ask before buying; I'd hate for a discrepancy to lead to a failed sale.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
I will only take returns and refunds on a case by case basis. If you would like a refund based on a photo not being printed properly or the complete wrong photo having been sent, please send me a (kind) message with a PHOTO of the discrepancy within 3 days of receipt (I will provide tracking) and we will go from there. I am happy to work with anyone in any situations, but buyers remorse and a change of heart do not qualify.
If you need an item ASAP and by ASAP you mean 10 minutes ago, convo me and I'll work with you as best I can. Most of my items can be made in a very timely fashion, provided my homework is taken care of, so please let me know ahead of time if I need to put your order at the top of my list, and if you need upgraded shipping, ask for that too.
