Announcement   I began making pottery at the age of fifteen, and have been working in clay ever since.
My formal schooling is in architecture. While I am not a practicing architect, this training has taught me to use careful, precise workmanship in my pottery making.

I am influenced by many pottery traditions, especially the work of the ancient Chinese potters. I am inspired by the graceful, refined forms of their pottery, and the skill of their glazing techniques.

All my work is made on the potter's wheel. I glaze my pieces with lead-free, nontoxic glazes, and fire them to 2230 degrees, to transform them into a dense, durable stoneware. All my work is dishwasher and microwave safe.

I began my pottery training in 1965 at the age of fifteen, and have been making pottery almost continuously ever since. My formal education includes a degree in architecture, which has influenced my approach to design and my interest in geometric surface patterns. Many of the forms I create are inspired by Chinese examples from the ninth to seventeenth centuries.

I taught pottery and design for many years at the college level, and now focus on creating my own work and teaching a select number of students privately. My reputation rests on my experience and skill in throwing (working on the potter's wheel) and the intricacies of glazing.

As a potter, designer and teacher I strive to produce the best pottery I can make. Every piece receives careful attention at every stage of the production process, and no piece leaves the studio unless I am completely happy with it..
