About

A Natural Farm is now USDA Organic Certified for its Turmerics & Gingers!

Located in Howey-in-the-Hills, A Natural Farm & Educational Center is a family owned and operated farm specializing in Chemical Free Agriculture.

Founded in 2012 by Luc & Sonia Duytsche, the main focus on the farm is the production and selling of edible plants, fruit trees, fresh ginger roots, blueberries & blackberries. The secondary mission of the farm is offering free or low-cost educational classes for both children and adults on sustainable farming, gardening and plant production through hands-on workshops.

Born in France, with background degrees in horticulture and business, Luc Duytsche has worked 20+ years in the states perfecting natural, chemical free gardening here in Florida. Arriving as a student intern in 1992, Luc began his career with a large Lake County tree farm and by 1994, he returned with his family to call Florida home. Since then, Luc worked for several plant nurseries before opening his own farm & educational center.

Example: to purchase 3 Moringa plants and 1 bag of fertilizer, add 1 Moringa to your cart with “Include 3lb. Bag” and add 2 Moringa with “No Fertilizer”. To purchase 3 Moringa plants and 3 bags of fertilizer, add 3 Moringa to your cart by selecting “Include 3 lb. Bag” with a Quantity of 3.

All orders will be shipped with the amount of Fertilizer added to your order. We cannot refund for additional fertilizers purchased. Don’t worry though, this is general purpose fertilizer and can be used for all your hungry plants :)

Do you grow your plants Organically?

A Natural Farm is a plant sanctuary - All of our plants are cared for with natural practices, without the use of synthetic chemicals (Ew!).

As a plant sanctuary, we bring in plants from other nurseries who do not uphold the same standards of quality that we do. These plants may have been raised with conventional standards. Once a plant arrives at our nursery, they are cared for with organic and natural practices. We love our plant babies and raise them with sincere care.

Plants purchased on our online stores are hand selected for their representation of our inventory. We care about our customers and their green thumbs! Plants selected for shipment adhere to our standards of quality for serving you and your garden.

Is your Nursery Open to the Public?

Yes! Come visit us Monday-Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

We are located at:
23630 SR19
Howey-in-the-Hills, FL 34737

How will my Plant Arrive?

As soon as your new plant arrives, carefully cut open the box and remove the packaging. (FYI before you trash the brown paper packaging - it can be composted, used as sheet mulch, bedding or burned!)

Remove the green (compostable) plastic bag & wrapping around the pot that is keeping the soil moist during transit.

It is best practice to water it right away. Your plant may or may not experience leaf drop, show signs of stress or be in a dormant phase. Regardless, it just traveled a great journey to get to its new home, so give it some time to accumulate!

If planting in the ground, check your weather forecast to ensure frost or freezing temperatures have passed for the year. Potting up into a larger pot can be done at any time.

Shipping From Our Nursery to Your Home

We keep shipping rates accurate & affordable. All shipping costs are calculated based on the weight of your order and your location.

We utilize USPS & FedEx as our shipping carriers as we have found their services to be reliable, safe & economical options for delivering live plants.

We ship Monday & Tuesdays according to climatic conditions & delivery time to ensure plants arrive in appropriate timing for proper care & watering, without unnecessary time spent in their dark box.

At this time we are unable to fulfill orders to California and Arizona due to agricultural regulations. We also do not ship to Hawaii and Alaska due to their distance from us and the sensitive nature of the products we ship.

Do you guarentee that our plant will arrive safely?

We do guarantee our plants arriving alive & well. We are here to assist you with your new plant friends to the best of our ability.

If the plant arrives in less than ideal health, please contact us within 3 days of your plant’s delivery . We will work with you to assess the problem and save the plant. We cannot assist over three days time, as we are unsure if the plant has been neglected or left unwatered.

Initial cosmetic issues are results of the transit & shipping process. Damaged or discolored leaves are not covered by our warranty. Plants are not used to being shipped across long distances in a dark box! Proper watering & care upon arrival will ensure new foliage growth and reestablishing the health of your plant.

Do you guarantee that my plant will grow?

We don't guarantee plant growth per say - as mother nature has her own plans and each gardener has their own lessons to learn. We do guarantee our plants arriving alive and unbroken. From there, we are here to assist you with helping your new plant friends to grow.

We strive to ensure the products purchased at our farm are healthy and strong for your planting success. At the same time, we are unable to guarantee the long term success of plants when considering the various gardening skills of our customers, hungry caterpillars, weather damage, watering schedules, insect & disease, soil conditions and growing outside recommend hardiness zones. These factors are outside of our control, so we are happy to offer insight - just ask!
