Perfect Gift for our nephew. He is a BIG baseball fan and this was taken at a baseball dugout. See the area for the bats? Pretty cool! He loves it!

About

A Window That Opens

Hi, I'm Brad Causey. Apertauga, which means "a window that opens," is a collection of my photographic work. In simplest terms, apertauga describes a camera's function – the shutter snaps open, light passes through and creates an exposure. But apertauga also describes the opening of the mind and the imagination from viewing art – especially abstract or minimalist art – two styles that classify much of my work.

Beyond these classifications, a growing subset of my work is serial in nature where the same general subject matter is photographed repeatedly, for example, the Lone Tree Series. This collection is more akin to a typological field guide of sorts, but there's something about the methodical approach to this style of work that I really enjoy.

Because of the abstract, minimalist, and serial nature of my work, interesting things happen when you group together a set of these images. Visual relationships form and reform to create unique synergies as the mind tries to create meaning from the shapes and colors and repetition of themes.

I’ve created a collection of quartets featuring some of the groupings I find most interesting, but I encourage you to pick and choose your own sets. Purchases of four or more are eligible for a discount – contact me for the coupon code.

Thanks for stopping by my shop. If you have time, drop me a line and let me know what you think!

Regards,

Brad Causey
