Announcement    Are you sitting there wondering why I haven't sold anything in a while? Well let me tell you a little story. I only went and set up a sewing studio didn't I?! I got the keys on February 6th 2015 after quite a search for a good property in the area around Winwick, Newton-le-Willows and Culcheth, near Warrington, U.K. it was running for three years, providing a 'sewcial' hangout for people who enjoy all things sewing and fabric related. It was a lot of hard work and definitely stepping out of my comfort zone on so many levels but it's now closed. I'm constantly modifying little things to get to my ideal state for creative, crafty, stitchy life. So I'm back in the mix and really looking forward to finding some fun and interesting projects for me to create and for you to also enjoy.
I bring to you sewing kits, to help inspire and assist you to give yourself permission to sew more. You, your children, your parents, your friends. Your neighbourhood. The world!
Bring it on!

Set a place to eat together and see what happens!

I started this shop as I like to make so much that I couldn't possibly use it all at home but what to make was the burning question?

I decided on place settings and all things for your dining room, mainly for the basic fact that I think eating together at a table is vital to us. We all tend to 'talk' enough on computers, phones or whatever technology you use to communicate with the world but still nothing beats a good face to face chat with a friend or family member. My gran was a great influence on me and she always used the saying ' a problem shared is a problem halved'. We always sat at her table in her little dining area. The tablecloth was a deep burgundy colour with tassles. She then used to put a plastic cover over the top of that. I can understand why she did that when my sisters, cousins and I were little but she still did it when we were older, which I never understood. No matter how many of us were there, she'd always find a place for us all. My Gran would hardly sit down to eat, as she was always up and down getting things for people, as we were often too squashed to get up ourselves. "I'll get it" would be her most used words. There was always her teapot on a stand at the end of the table with a woollen tea cosy over it. On the wall which the table was pressed against. there was a radiator and a little shelf above the radiator. That radiator used to hold allsorts of ornaments or things that us kids had made her and Uncle Ed (my Grandad) and I loved to look at them; probably why I was often told to hurry up or my dinner would go cold! There were also high shelves on the walls around the table, which held decorative plates.

There you go. That's the setting I have in my head of many a happy memory and to be truthful, probably many an argument too. That's what families are made of; a whole variety of experiences which hopefully help make you stronger as a unit.

If I can help others to create a welcoming space for their family and friends to eat and talk around, then I will achieve plenty.
