About

A home for original polymer art beads and jewelry

I love a good experiment. I love to push the boundaries of what I can make by bending, twisting, swirling, mashing, cutting, stretching, colouring, smooshing, shaping and whatevering polymer clay. The joy of polymer is that you can almost always try again if it all goes very awry. Rest assured, what hits the shelves of the shop are only the finest of the successes!

Emma Todd loves to create original, one of a kind items from polymer clay, because it is pretty kickass stuff. She also believes that celery is not a food, that socks are a form of torture and that cats are people too.

Please be assured that what you find in the A Polymer Penchant shop is all made with my two hands.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
I accept Paypal and credit cards through Paypal’s non-account option. So if you do not currently have, or want, a Paypal account you can still make purchases here with your credit card. In the checkout stage, select the Paypal option which will bring you to the Paypal homepage, and from there follow the instructions for "I do not have a paypal account". This is a secure feature.

Please pay for your purchase within 24 hours. I will send at least one reminder beyond that time frame and I will reserve the right to cancel unpaid transactions beyond 4 days, if no communication has been made.
Shipping
I ship with Canada Post, using the lettermail service, which has a maximum thickness of 20mm so not all items can ship via this method. Your item will ship within 1-2 days of payment clearing and I will notify you via convo once it does ship.

I strive to charge the actual shipping. Please know that if you are overcharged with multiple listings I will be refunding differences of more than $1.00. If you prefer to have a more accurate shipping price before purchase I can certainly creat a custom listing.

Timeline:
For the most part, a good estimate on shipping time would be about 9-15 business days, and on occasion a bit longer. Much of this is beyond my control, (customs, weather etc) so I will not guarantee any timeframe.

Please contact me, before purchase, if you have a date by which you must receive an item. I can look into our best options for delivery and provide an estimate.

Tracking:
Insurance and tracking are not included as these are expensive and sometimes unavailable options. Again, if you would like to upgrade your shipping please contact me before making payment and we can look into options. In some cases, where multiple items are being purchased, the difference may not be much more.

International customers:

Items that cannot ship lettermail due to their size must ship by parcel option. The prices vary widely, so I do not have a price included in these listings.

As per Canada Post:
International ground----- is a 4-6 week delivery and $7.24 to $30.23 depending on weight and international destination.
Air shipment------is 6-10 business days and $9.54 to $67.82 depending on weight and international destination.

I would love the opportunity to give you the best option, please contact me for a quote.

Please note that any customs fees, taxes, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be incurred at the time of delivery would be at the discretion of your country's regulations. All of the above are the sole responsibility of the buyer. All customs forms will be completed accurately and invoice enclosed.
Refunds and Exchanges
If your item does not arrive, or arrives damaged please contact me so we can resolve.

I make every effort to have my listings accurately reflect the item you will be receiving. Returns will not be accepted. I will consider exchanges on a case by case basis, please contact me so we can discuss.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom work:
Custom pieces can be very rewarding for both parties as long as there is great communication. In that spirit, I will not set out any specifics here. Just contact me and we can bounce ideas around to our mutual delight.

A bit about care of polymer work:
Items made from polymer are tough and durable for regular wear. You can use a damp, soapy cloth to to wipe a piece clean. Being submersed in water will not do any harm either, but I generally recommend that jewelry should be removed when bathing or swimming. Remember that though tough, these items are not indestructible, please treat with care the way you would any piece of art.

I’d love a convo if you’ve featured my work in a treasury or blog – awesome!
