About A Rose Cast
A Rose Cast is a one-person creative studio, based in Northern Ireland, producing quirky products, illustration and design for opinionated women who love books, animals and feminism. With a focus on watercolour portraiture, graphic illustration, lettering and calligraphy, A Rose Cast produces illustrated work for two different purposes;
THE STORE
The store sells illustrated products created in-house. From stationery, greeting cards, sticker packs and art prints, to jewellery and accessories ~ enamel pins, pocket mirrors, badges, brooches and necklaces ~ each item falls into one of the following sub-brands;
- Girl Gang // Feminist Products for Those Who Persist
- Book Nerd // Literary Products for Well-Read Women
- Sofa Beast // Adorable Products for Animal Lovers
ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR
Hi, I’m Karen, and I’m the illustrator behind the scenes at A Rose Cast. I’m based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, but work with clients and stores all around the world. I live with my partner and our three cats, Mog, Toby and Monty, who often influence my Sofa Beast line of products.
I'm passionate about intersectional feminism and progressive politics, and these issues have a big impact on my work.
Away from illustration I love to buy books faster than I can read them, watch nerdy TV shows and movies, and get lost exploring new places.
