About

Goat Milk? We do!

We live in Indiana on a small farm. As of 11-12-15 we have 1 child, 3 dogs, 3 cats, a tree frog, a ball python, 9 ducks, 15 chickens, and two goats. Do they all have names? Yup you bet- AJ, Chevy, Rintu, Buckshot, Optimus Prime, Phineas, Annie Oakley, Dumpy, and Rafiki. The ducks are Daffy, Frankie, Fred, Jesse, James, Ms. Kay, Bill, Bill, and Billy. The chickens are Chickbocca, Chuck, Chuck Jr, Salt-n-Pepper, and the rest are Fajita (there are to many that look to similar to really name them). And the stars of this shop are Bonnie and Clyde.

How did we come to make soap? We had a lot of milk so we tried to make cheese and that did not work out. We made ice cream (that did work and is great!). However, how much ice cream can we eat! So we thought we'd make soap. Why not, right? At first it was just a trial and just for us. Then we shared with friends and family. Everyone loved it! We regularly hear how it makes your hands soft and smells great. We don't skimp on scents. We want you to smell your soap!

After a little while we decided to use it as shampoo. Guess what, it worked! My hair is half down my back and the boys have shave heads. It works for all three of us. To warn you, if you decide to do this expect your hair to be greasy for a couple of weeks. Your scalp us used to making oil to combat chemicals in shampoo and even without the chemicals it will still make the oil for a little while. I've also found that you need to use a little apple cider vinegar from time to time to clean the oil back out.

Wow that was a lot, hope that helps you know us a little better.

In the fall of 2014 we bought 6 acres in the middle of nowhere. Then we decided we needs some ducks, chickens, and of course goats! We got a mom and son combo (Bonnie and Clyde). Soon we realized that we had a lot of milk on hand! So we started to google what to do with it. We tried to make cheese, very unsuccessfully. Then we found a recipe for making goats milk soap and thought why not? That was way more successful than the whole cheese escapade! We love the way it makes our skin feel, it smells great, and we even use it to wash our hair. We are hoping you love it too!

In 2016 we are sad to report Bonnie passed away. However, we now have Anne, Rue, Waylon, Willie, Le'Roy, and we still have Clyde.
