About

Yes It Does Make You Happy

A Zillion Dollars was officially born in 2011, although it existed in shelves full of sketchbooks for many years before that. Nowadays the magic happens at the home studio in the mountains outside Los Angeles at 4400 feet, most often with a loyal geriatric dog by my side.

I started out with a web comic, over at azilliondollarscomics.com, a place in which the hours of free association occasionally turned into something funny and digestible for public consumption. New cartoons can be seen twice a week at azilliondollarscomics.com, and on facebook, tumblr and instagram. But the digital realm can be frustrating, being only pixels and all. I studied painting in college, and never lost interest in physical objects, so the mugs, totebags, magnets, and other entities consisting of actual physical matter appeared.

And then, my totebag appeared on the Today show in 2012. Online, my cartoons started showing up on Gizmodo and BuzzFeed. Since then, cartoons have been published in numerous Chicken Soup for the Soul books, regularly in the Therapist magazine, and in many international print publications, including a newspaper in Zurich and geology textbook in Brazil. Even more rewarding than all of that are the exchanges I have with people all over the world who dig my cartoons. Hooray for the internet, and hooray for art!.

So we continue to introduce new products as the muse sees fit, and show them in pop-up shops and markets in Los Angeles. I hope you enjoy perusing my shop. Maybe it will even make you laugh. Whenever someone laughs at something I make, I can hear it echoing through the mountains to my studio, and there's nothing better than that.

Many of the items here are one-of-a-kind, but if you see an older design you would like, let me know. I don't do custom orders with regards to particular sayings, phrases, or faces, because the characters in these expressive objects are very particular about what they say.
