Announcement   This is a shop for the birds. Every product listed here has been carefully figured out on paper and then handmade by me. Every house design is based on the nesting needs and habits of a particular set of birds. I use mostly recycled cedar materials so that the houses will be in harmony with any backyard natural environment. Cedar is also a very durable wood and will last for many, many years. I do not use paints, stains, sealers, or wood preservatives because these contain chemicals that are often harmful to birds. My bird houses will age with time, turning gray much as people do, but they will continue to attract birds to your yard year after year as long as they are located in a reasonably safe place.
From time to time, I will be adding other products, such as feeders, baths, roosts, etc. and I also intend to build some houses for bats, butterflies, hummingbirds, and probably some waterfowl. I may also add plans for chicken tractors and duck wagons (I have prototypes currently in use for testing purposes.) So visit my shop occasionally to see what is new. I love wildlife, and it is amazing what you can attract to your yard, even if you live in the middle of a city.

Country Cabin Bird House arrived!! It is so beautiful and the craftsmanship is even better than I anticipated. My birds are already lining up and bickering about who gets to move in first. I highly recommend all your products for their Eco-Friendly construction and skilled craftsmanship. Thank you for your excellent shipping/packaging service.

After many years working with children and families in Se-attle, and raising two wonderful children of my own, I have now retired to a small place out in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. When I lived in Seattle, I encouraged neighbors and friends to plant trees and build habitats for local wildlife, and I created my own little wooded retreat in the city. I covered my house in recovered hand-split cedar shakes and surrounded it with as many different kinds of trees as I could fit in the small space that I had. Then I planted wild berries and built feeding stations for the birds, and they came in large numbers. Then I started making houses and roosting lofts and the birds began to use them as well. The crazy antics of these birds and their babies, and the beauty of their songs became a delightful and colorful part of my life. My birdhouses are an expression of the joy that wildlife has always brought to me and I hope they will do the same for you.

Welcome to Acorn Products.
Every item listed here has been carefully thought out on paper and then handmade by me. They are intended to be functional and environmentally harmonious. Each house design is based on the nesting needs and habits of particular birds. My bird houses will age with time, turning gray much as people do, but they will continue to attract birds to your yard year after year as long as they are located in a reasonably safe place.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept payment by check, credit card, or debit card. Shipment occurs after payment has been received.
Shipping
Unless you contact me with other instructions, I ship all of my products by U.S. Postal Service, Priority Mail. If you request it, I will use Parcel Post, which is cheaper (I will refund the difference), but it takes several days longer for delivery. I will ship to Canada, but prefer not to ship anywhere else outside of the United States, because shipping costs are prohibitively expensive.

I will ship "in stock" items within 2 business days if at all possible. If you have requested a custom order, that will take longer, but usually within 5-7 business days. If for any reason I cannot make these deadlines, I will contact you by phone or email to explain the situation. I appreciate your business and I want you to be satisfied.I will ship "in stock" items within 2 business days if at all possible. Refunds and Exchanges
If you are not satisfied with a product, please convo me to explain the problem. If the situation is not fixable, I will ask you to ship it back to me and I will refund whatever you paid me, including the shipping cost.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom Orders
Please email me with requests. Anything reasonable is negotiable. Depending upon the design of the bird house, not all of the following modifications are possible. ENTRANCE: Your bird house will come with a 1¼-inch opening (model S) for small birds such as chickadees, nuthatches, titmice, warblers, wrens, etc. If you would like to cater to medium-sized birds, i.e. finches, flycatchers, sparrows, swallows, small woodpeckers, etc., please request the larger 1½-inch opening (model M). TOP OF POST MOUNT: If you want to place your bird house on top of a post, you may request that a 12-inch 1”x4” board be included for that purpose. ACCESSORIES: If you would like a house tag, i.e. a short name or saying burned into the front of your bird house, tell me what you want and I will do that for $5.00 extra. I will also discuss any other additions or changes that you would like to help make the birdhouse compatible with your backyard. (Custom requests may cause a short delay in shipping.)
