About

The Attic Studio

The Attic Studio is a small art studio in the upper story of a ramshackle old farm house. Packed from floor to ceiling with a wide variety of art supplies (many of which I've gleaned from the woods, fields, and streams of rural West Virginia), The Attic Studio overlooks a beautiful landscape that inspires me in the creation of any number of fanciful and arts and crafts.

In addition, I love rummaging through thrift stores, so you'll also spy an array of my fun & fantastic finds in my shop.

Payment
Please use whichever method is most convenient for you. Once the payment clears, your item will ship within 1 to 3 business days.
If payment does not clear within 7 to 14 business days (depending on payment platform), the transaction will be cancelled & fully refunded to the customer.
Shipping
SHIPPING COSTS: Shipping charges for most items are determined by 'calculated shipping' -- wherein the shipping cost is based on the weight & size of the item (and its packaging) plus the buyer's location. Depending on the item, you may see shipping options that include First Class, Parcel Select, Priority, or Priority Express Mail.
I highly recommend the Priority Mail options, as these services are faster, safer, and come with shipping insurance (First Class and Parcel Select packages are NOT insured).

A small handling fee is also included in the shipping cost. This varies from item to item, depending on what type of packaging is required.

PACKAGE TRACKING: All items are shipped with package tracking -- even small 'paper' items like cards & bookmarks. This way, EVERY item comes with proof of shipment and delivery!

MEDIA MAIL: Books and magazines are shipped via Media Mail, which is typically a bit slower than First Class or Priority, but these items are eligible for shipping upgrades at the buyer's request.

TIMING: If you need an item by a certain date, please contact me before making your purchase to discuss shipping options & ensure your order arrives on time.

PACKAGING: I recycle and re-use packing materials whenever possible. This sometimes includes the use of food boxes as packaging -- if you have any serious allergies please let me know at checkout, so I don't inadvertently use an inappropriate box to package your item.
Refunds and Exchanges
If something goes wrong with your order, please contact me as soon as possible so I can be of assistance.

I do not refund custom 'made to order' purchases.
Depending on circumstances, I may accept returns on other items. If you feel you need to return your order, contact me within 7 days of receiving the item. Item must be returned in the same condition it was originally sent/received within 30 days. Buyer is responsible for return shipping. When the item is returned, the original purchase price will be refunded.

Please keep tabs on your tracking number and send me a message if anything goes amiss -- has your item been lost, delayed, or damaged in the mail? Let me know so I can help....and remember, items shipped via the Priority Mail services automatically receive shipping insurance, which is beneficial for both customers and sellers. This is why I highly recommend the Priority services.

I'm sorry to have to add this, but I no longer accept returns due to 'buyer error' (for example, if the buyer fails to read the measurements, condition, or other details which have been clearly stated in the item listing). Therefore, ask any & all questions prior to making your purchase. I'm always happy to assist.

Additional policies and FAQs
OUT IN THE BOONIES: I live in a rural area. There is no cell phone service here (!) and the landline phone, internet, and even the mail may be interrupted a few times a year by adverse weather conditions. As such, I hope customers will be understanding of any delays on my end.
Whenever possible, I notify my current customers of potential problems caused by these outages, and I always strive to send replies and ship items as speedily as possible. :)

~FAQ~
Q: Why don't you ship to my country?
A: In fact, I am happy to ship anywhere! However, I have disabled worldwide shipping within my shop because it is often hugely expensive, slow, and customers in some countries have to pay substantial customs fees in addition to the purchase price. Therefore, I prefer to receive international orders only from customers who are prepared for the 'hassle'.

Q: How big is it?
A: Sizes of items are included in item descriptions, titles, and photos whenever possible. I realize these details may be difficult to access on certain devices, so if you can't view the pertinent information, send me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Q: Can you make me a personalized item?
A: I certainly can; I will happily take commissions for a variety of handmade, hand-painted, or handcrafted items. Just let me know what you want, and I'll give you details on pricing and how long it will take.

Q: Will you give this item to me for free / will you give me a discount?
A: My prices are firm. I do, however, have sales or offer coupon codes from time to time. The best place to learn about such sales is in my shop announcement or on my Facebook page (AtticStudioWV).
