Great craftsmanship and beautiful leather. The yellow is a terrific colour, lining is very complimentary, pockets are well designed. Laura even delivered the item personally (I'm local) in time for Christmas. Great service.

10 stars. Absolutely wonderful. My heart is smashed-broken that the initials aren't on it. That was to make it so special. I hope they are on the wallet. Beautifully loved. Thank you. (So accommodating to allow for initials to arrive to complete the bag - good thinking!!!!:))

About

Love and proud of handmade bags

I have been influenced by my dad since I was little. He was the family’s handyman. He used to build furniture for our home. He built my first metal bed frame and wooden headboard. He built my mom her first dresser. He built our first deck, first fish tank, first kitchen table—the list goes on and on. Sometimes he joked that most of the furniture in our home was older than I was. I always liked to watch what he was making while he explained what thing was for what.

As I got older, I started to make my own little things. I made a pair of earrings and a necklace of beads that I bought from the dollar store when I was only eight years old. I also knit my first wool hat and scarf when I was fourteen. My mom taught me how to sew and knit, and I gave the first sweater I knitted to her as a birthday gift.

I attended university and found a job after graduation. The job was alright, but I didn’t really enjoy what I was doing. I wanted to do something that I feel passionate about. So I decided to quit my job and pursue making a career out of something I enjoy doing.

I have always been passionate about fashion, especially handbags and shoes. The right handbag or shoes will make you stand out even if the rest of your outfit doesn’t. A lot of times when I am shopping online or in a store, I find myself thinking things like, “This bag looks good, but if the strap could be a little longer or this bag could be made in beige, it would be perfect.” I started realizing that a shop that carries a wide selection of leather, colors, linings, and maybe even extra-long shoulder straps for bags would make a lot of women happy, including me. And that’s where my crazy and ambitious idea to open a customized leather handbag shop started.

I bought my first sewing machine on eBay for less than $100, and with a few metal loops and rings from a local hardware store, I made my first handmade leather bag. Now I design my own styles on both traditional equipment and specialized machines I have made myself. Each Adeleshop bag is individual made in our home studio in Bedford, NS, Canada.
