It all started when........
I started making watches for myself for a while instead of jewellery (I don't wear it much), then I started making the watches as customised gifts for my oldest daughter to give to her friends as Bat Mitzvah presents (Jewish girls coming of age, 12 years old) .Made in the Bat Mitzvah girls favourite colours.
One day one of the granny's called me to ask what do I charge for these watches, and that started me selling locally.
I found Etsy through a lady I met at the market while I was shopping for more beads and told me that she was selling on Etsy.
I know I could do more with my shop, unfortunately I don't get the time to make as often as I would like, but that is going to change as I would like to make this shop into my full time career.
When I met Angie I wanted her as part of my shop her incredible eye catching wristband made me stop and comment, that never happens. What is special about her creations is that almost all of the beads that she uses are made by Angie herself! If they she didn't make them they have been repurposed. So an item made by Angie can be a mix of old and new and even bits of glass she found or an interesting stone. You might find that she has made ten of an item but none of them will be identical because of this.
Dudu is someone I have been looking for to add to our creative team for a while now, I find the art of bead weaving very beautiful, but so far it is not something I have mastered! Dudu was introduced to me by a colleague when she saw me trying to weave. Her work is inspired by her African culture.
Sandra was added for something different, her work varies and is custom made from beaded and embroidered wedding canopies to babies quilts.
Hopefully this venture will continue to grow, I am now looking for a silversmith to add to our mix.
