Announcement   Hand turned wooden bowls for salads, fruit, yarn etc. Sensual, organic wooden forms inspired by the sea but done in European hardwoods as functional art and future heirlooms. ALL WOOD is locally cut and saved from the fire. I never cut a tree only to get the wood; wind and ice fall trees, orchard clearing, planned culling and street widening all produce a source. I use only natural oil & wax finishes, totally food safe. Each piece is shipped with a box of wax. See the process: www.pinterest.com/adorewoods/birth-of-a-bowl

Perfect in every way! Norman had unique ability to bring out the very best in each piece of wood. Each a testament to a magnificent tree! I will be back for another...I always am... :) :) :)

About

Life is what happens while you plan something else.

I had a long background in woodwork and design which I thought I had given up when I left the states. BUT all of the really wonderful forests and orchards provided temptation. I started doing sculpture again. I had to relearn the lesson that it is nearly unsellable. At the same time Eva & I were outfitting our flat and visiting craft fairs. We noticed that there was no quality turned wood.

So I bought a lathe and went to work. Now, over ten years later I have a dedicated following of collectors and have had an article in the British woodturners' magazine. I am trying to expand to a wider audience.

By the standards of the business world I am an eccentric; I live my way, I have never owned a suit, as a teacher I rant and bang on tables but then I give out praise and hugs. I have learned that my clients are also self-defined individualists who avoid fad & trend. Come join us in the world of sensual, one of a kind environmentally harvested fine wood craft
