My grandchildren have too many toys! While I buy the occasional toy, I enjoy spending my money being on-the-go with my grandchildren. We go on lots of adventures, often without their parents! Adventures are fun and they create lasting memories.

For Christmas 2018, I wrote a book, Oh, the Places We Will Go: Adventures with MaMa Berry (my grandmother name). I listed 21 adventures along the East Coast I want to take the children before their 16th birthdays.

I included lots of pictures of the adventures and a scrapbook/journal section where we can attach our own pictures and write about the fun we have during each adventure. As a retired teacher, I know interacting with each adventure before and after each trip is an important component of pushing our time together into the children's long-term memories. We also talk about the adventures a lot!

As word spread among family and friends about the book, people encouraged me to turn it into a publication for all grandparents to enjoy with their grandchildren, and that is what I am doing! My plan is to write a book for each state.

One thing led to another, and in addition to writing the book, I created the Adventures with Grammy line of plush animals. I know not every grandchild calls his or her grandparent Grammy, so I am making sure the plush animals' clothing can be personalized with YOUR grandparent name. My grandchildren LOVE snuggling with their plush animals that wear clothing that says "Adventures with MaMa Berry." Just imagine your little ones cuddling with bears that wear clothing with YOUR grandparent name! Plush animals provide comfort and security for our grandchildren when their world is topsy-turvy.
