From Lancashire Weaving Mill to Embroidery Workshop in France

I started my working life in a Lancashire Weaving Mill. I ran 8 looms. I then worked as a sewing machinist making children's clothes, rucksacks, tablecloths and napkins. My hobbies were always sewing related and I also became interested in machine knitting, visiting all the exhibitions where I bought far too much wool and patterns etc. It was at one of these exhibitions that I found my Pfaff sewing/embroidery machine. This was before the embroidery machines that we have now but it was the catalyst that got me hooked on machine embroidery. I then purchased my toyota Ad860 industrial embroidery machine and started a commercial embroidery business with my husband doing business logos on workwear etc. We then decided to move to France bringing the machine with us. It was here in my atelier that I was able to further my machine embroidery skills, digitising designs, creating beautiful gifts for all occasions using "in the hoop" designs , crazy patchwork, photostitch, applique and my favourite homemade lace items, especially the lace jewellery that I have featured in my shop at the moment. I'm always researching embroidery designs on the internet and it still amazes me how I can download an embroidery design and within minutes have it embroidered out onto a cushion or chosen project.
