A bit smaller than I would have expected but overall it's pretty nice.

This is the 2nd ornament we've ordered and we love them both. They are adorable and they were able to use a lot of specific details to make this look like our family (including jeep color, hair color, dog size/color). We love it!

About

It was just a hobby! How did THIS happen?

I have been an artist all of my life... since the womb. I always drew. I always had my camera and my sketch pad and my little bit of number 2 pencil nub with me. While I worked as a manager at the local art store, I was exposed to so many new things. PAINT? Never tried it. I did start playing with an airbrush... I had access to samples from salesmen and discounted supplies and damaged toss outs. It was heaven. I started painting clothing which was popular at the time, making stuff for family, then selling a few things. It was fun. It was a hobby. Then I started doing craft fairs and it never stopped. I was out there every weekend, then week long mall shows. I got alot better. I rented a couple of shops for short spans. THEN..... I got a cart at the mall for the holidays. It was intense but the money wasn't bad... until the mall took it all in rent. I did that for 3 years and burnt myself out. It wasn't fun and I was broke. I rented one more seasonal shop on the boardwalk. It was a great place and I had a blast. But there was no money. I opened my first studio and never looked back. I began my career as an airbrush artist painting shirts at fairs. That kept me on my toes and I took every job that came my way. I'm grateful for that experience which lasted about 15 years until I opened my first studio and left the retail world behind. That is where I began to do my best work and still strive to be better. The airbrush is still prominent in most of my work... except the smaller pieces. I work with acrylics and watercolors as well as graphite and colored pencil. I love experimenting with new things and am playing around with collage a bit. I taught myself to paint and ran the business on my own. It gave me great hands on skills. I don't think you ever stop learning as an artist and am so thankful for the customers who have never doubted my ability and give me free reign on a project. Without that challenge I would not have gained the experience or reached the level that I have. Painting is such a part of me. I could never imagine anything else! It's been a bumpy ride at points but I have met so many great people and have had a good bit of fun along the way.

For the past 30 years I have been a freelance artist working with individuals and businesses. I have painted just about everything on every surface. These days my main subjects are nature, animals, classic automobiles and architectural elements. I am always open to a challenge and do not limit myself to one thing or one style.
